I dont read the telegraph, sun, daily express, daily mail, daily star and the times because they are all racist right wing newspapers who blame most of the problems in UK on muslims and asylum seekers.

but Rh will remind you that its the MAJORITY who prefer those.

Personally, I stopped buying newspapers mid 1990's - it was too painful/scarey reading stuff about 'foreigners/immigration' in those early days....and now its 'Islam/Muslims/more illegal immigration/Abu the hook; Omar the crook; holy book' etc...

The only paper I will read is the Independant - if I am on a long journey and I need to kill some time.

Khaleej Times, mainly the sports section at that - quality and definetely worth the time.
I'll read the Gulf Daily News too just to see whats happening around Bahrain.

In Sydney i generally dont read a newspaper at all. They're generally all trash (especially the Telegraph there) and dont say much about the rest of the world. If I read anything it would be the Sydney Morning Herald

ADVICE NEEDED FROM UK RESIDENTS

I have been studying in London for a few months and am unsure about which paper to read. My sister favors the Guardian coz its leftist but ive heard the Telegraph and the Times are all right, thought more conservative. I dotn really care about political lening - which paper would probably be considered the most respectable.

These days i jsut read my news from bbc.com and believe me they set a very high standard. Nytimes.com are undoubtedly good but the website intimidatesme sometimes.

Tho i dont buy any now but these are my views on the papers

Independent is pretty good because it gives a balanced views but with the guardian you get more world news.

The telegraph is pro zionist so will get loads of views which are negative about muslims in general.

The Times is the mouthpiece of the labour government so dont except any good there.

The sun and daily star is for perverts(unless your into football)(sorry cav4200)

Mirror is okay for football and showbiz

Daily express is just plain racist nonsense

Daily mail again is racist trash

your better of sticking with the net.

I think papers cant keep up with net. you rightly said bbc has the best news website.

Usually the Daily Times (pakistan), mainly the editorial, or Dawn but haven't been very regular recently.

NYT when I've had a chance of a printed copy...very good paper.

Bits of the Friday Times at home or online before it started a subscription.

Independent and Guardian have been very good whenever I've come across them.

Dont rate their footy to be honest, their footy exclusives are usually good to know what ISNT GOING to happen - just follow the net for footy news, its ten times better, the link Hitman gave is a good un since it collates news from all papers

Actually i like parts of the Mirror, Oliver Holt is a good writer and like i mentioned above John Pilger is the dogs bo11ock5

Also didnt know you was a footy fan, who do you support?
