Mohammad Hafeez -

Salam All,

I havent been posting for some time here now, but I wanted to mention that for the last few weeks Hafeez has been under immense personal anguish.

In times of need, prayers help and as a collective forum, we always try to do this as friends in cricket.

Just a few months after losing his late mother, Hafeez was struck a hammer blow, with the news that his father cannot be treated for a certain cancer from Shaukat Khanum Hospital.

Doctors have stated they cannot do anything and time isnt on his side.

I have had the honour of meeting his father at Hafeez's mangni in Sargodha a few weeks back, and must say his father looked weak, as elders do, but this is a shock to me since my wife told her the news and rang looking to speak to me. He has now speeded up his wedding plans and amidst this, just doesnt know what to do, how to feel, laugh or cry. Allah Tests Us All, but this is by far his own personal biggest test.

So when we Pray, may I kindly respect that you remember all those less fortunate that us, ill, injured, grieving, and so on. The tragic events in KHI bring life back into perspective. We will all have to report to the Almighty, when He calls.

Finally, for those who have parents, look after them, respect them, spend time with them.

May Allah bless us and watch us all, keep us nehak, rehmat waleh and sehat farmain.

Please pay my respects to Hafeez for his personal loss and anguish

I always pray for the needy, desperate, and those who are looking for a kind word, hand, or some support from a kind hearted person...in times of personal hardship, a kind word goes a long way than any amount of monetary support!

tell him that as health is from God , so is sickness. to some people God gives and if they do shukr then they are of the shakaireen, and from some people God takes and if they do sabr then are of the sabireen. Both kinds of people loved by God. tell hafeez if u can noddy, if he can show patiance, God will reward him inshallah. ultimately its all about the life in the hereafter, he comes clean during this examination and in all probabilty he would have set a good launching pad for his next.
tell him we are all praying for him.

the last verses of surat-e-bakra are very powerful

002.284 Unto Allah (belongeth) whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever
is in the earth; and whether ye make known what is in your minds or hide
it, Allah will bring you to account for it. He will forgive whom He will
and He will punish whom He will. Allah is Able to do all things.

002.285 The messenger believeth in that which hath been revealed unto him
from his Lord and (so do) believers. Each one believeth in Allah and His
angels and His scriptures and His messengers - We make no distinction
between any of His messengers - and they say: We hear, and we obey. (Grant
us) Thy forgiveness, our Lord. Unto Thee is the journeying.

002.286 Allah tasketh not a soul beyond its scope. For it (is only) that
which it hath earned, and against it (only) that which it hath deserved.
Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget, or miss the mark! Our Lord! Lay not
on us such a burden as thou didst lay on those before us! Our Lord! Impose
not on us that which we have not the strength to bear! Pardon us, absolve
us and have mercy on us, Thou, our Protector, and give us victory over the
disbelieving folk.

Very sad news indeed. My thoughts and prayers are with him and hope his family can come through this. When something like this happens it changes your life forever and when 2 major events happen so close you start to wonder what your family has done to deserve this or what he has done himself. Allah does test us but its hard to understand why in a test you have to see loved ones suffer in front of your eyes but that is not our decision. Big daddys post is worth another read in hard times like these.

Our prayers and best wishes with Hafeez and family - watching my own mother die not so long ago, I can almost feel the anguish of Hafeez.

At the end of day, cricket is such a small thing in our life - family, health - these are what we take for granted!

May ALLAH grant sabar to Hafeez and his family, May ALLAH bless Hafeez for looking after his parents - there is nothing in this world that a parent can wish for but a Saleh Aulad ( obedient/god fearing children) and MashaALLAH, Hafeez's parents have one.

Take care Noddy

two huge tragedies afflicting a person so young and in such close succession... may his father rest in peace.

Noddy bhai, please convey our condolences to Hafeez.

I don't know precisely whether Namaz-e-Janaza has taken place. But he died yesterday I believe. I came to know of it from Hasan Raza last night. They today mentioned going to see Hafeez....most probably must be for Janaza.

Mohammad Hafeez’s father passes away

Quote:
Mohammad Hafeez’s father passes away

By our correspondent

KARACHI: Pakistan’s discarded all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez suffered a personal tragedy on the eve of his departure for Abu Dhabi with the Pakistan A squad to play in the Euro Asia Cup.

Hafeez lost his father to a long time illness on Thursday and was doubtful for the tournament but coach Rashid Khan said his family had asked him to go and play with the national side.

“Obviously he is very upset but his family feels he should go. He showed up today for the practice and hopefully he will go with us on schedule to Abu Dhabi,” he added.

Rashid has been appointed coach of the team after successfully coaching the Pakistan A side in the tour matches against England. The manager for the tour is Shafiq Ahmed Paapa.

The Pakistan A team captained by Hasan Raza plays its first match on April 25.

The second string sides from India and Sri Lanka and the national teams of Scotland, Ireland and UAE are taking part in the six nation competition.

The national selectors have picked a number of Pakistan capped players for the tournament including Taufeeq Umar, Bazid Khan, Yasir Hameed, Umar Gul, Hafeez, Misbah-ul-Haq and Yasir Arafat with other promising players like Tahir Khan, Shahid Yousuf, Mansoor Amjad and Mohammad Irshad also in the side that departs on Sunday (today) morning.
