Second Test Day 2 Score Updates and Discussion [17/03/05]

Please place all score updates and discuss all issues pretaining to Day 2 of the Second Test match between India and Pakistan here.

At the end of play on Day 1, India stands at 344-6 after a bout of excellent bowling from Afridi and especailly Razzaq, in which he took two wickets in successive deliveries. Where India were once 298-3, they soon stood at 298-5 with both skipper and VVS Laxman back in the pavillion. The only hidrance remaining for Pakistan is the Indian tail which should hopefully be routed for under 400 runs, which would give Pakistan a slight psychological advantage considering the blazing start that Sehwag and Ganbhir got India off to.

And mods can you please make this sticky.

It would be criminal if we let them get past 400 now, especially since the last recognised batsman has departed, but this is pak after all, they always make it difficult!

well specialist bowler is a term that loosely fits sami and khalil...very loosley. We dont have any better at the moment..injuries to shabir, gul and ***** means sami is the only one left along with rana and khalil

I think under 360 is 2 much 2 ask for. Chuckbajan can carry a bat well. But certainly less than 400 should be expected.

Man, Afridi is really justifying his selection. If he can add a few runs with the bat it will be a done deal. Might even be able to get himself back into the Test picture on a more than temporary basis.

AFRIDI + DANISH = Wasim + Waqar in terms of cleaning the tail
u dont know what ur talking about
I do, they're our current Wasim+Waqar for the tail

Their awkward style of bowling confuses the tail a lot more than our current 'seamers'. eg: see Australia
BIG DIFFERENCE between

AFRIDI + DANISH = Wasim + Waqar in terms of cleaning the tail
and
they're our "current" Wasim+Waqar for the tail

the 2 spinners arent equal to the 2 quickies
but our standard has gone so down in bowling we have to rely on them when we shudnt

no way should india be allowed to reach 400 after doing so well early on. if they do its the captains fualt for mediocre captaincy.
