Like it or not, VB Trophy is going away to Pakistan !

Memo to Aussie fans and players alike:

1. You have been blowing your own trumpets for a while now and we have listened patiently.

2. We know about your Langers and McGraths and Clarkes and Gillespies and Martyns.

3. We know about the great Aussie love for a good game etc

4. And we have been listening to the senile blah blah from the likes of Richie and Lawry and Nicholas - ALL THROUGH YOUR SUMMER !!!

So its about time for you to HEAR THIS :

1. The Men In Green are marching

2. We are playing our own tune and dont need to listen to yours

3. We have already sorted your Haydens, Lees, Hoggs, Laras, Sarawans, Symonds

4. We will sort out the Pontings, Gilchrists and any others you throw at us -
Why ?

Cos we've had enough !!

1. So get used to some new names like Rana, Salman, Akmal or even Khalil

2. And remember a few old ones like Inzi and Yoyo

3. And remember to look skyward and for divine signs of mercy , when the Great Afridi swings his blade...

And Most of all......

Get used to the idea of being 2nd best , since there is no harm in losing to the VERY BEST - PAKISTAN !

Oh yeah, also say good bye to the VB Trophy - its coming home to Pakistan ....

Pakistan Zindabad !

Has Inzy done his own version of the famous Conered Tigers speech?

Say it quietly but momentum is building just like in 92. Oh what Inzy would give to have a Wasim Akram......

Dan, I think MIG has a point. I am not one to usually think Pakistan would beat Australia. However, if they play with the same intensity as the past two games they have a good chance of winning the VB series.

Australia are a very good side but beating them in ODI's is not nearly as difficult as in test matches. Especially their bowling in the middle overs (hogg, symonds or even Watson) are a real opening. We came close to beating them in the one day games in England and here is our chance once more.

Having said that I repeat Pakistan will need to play as well as they have been in the past two games. These were high quality games and we have got a winning streak going.

Good to see the optimism by ppers for Pak victory. Nothing worng with that and who knows we may upset the apple cart. Inshallah we will win.
The Aussies are too good though and without Rana now we may struggle. The Aussies being the best there is are still beatable by Pak as we saw the other day but it will take some special performances by quite a few of the Pak players. Pak team needs to now move from 4th to 5th gear.

No harm in hoping everyone - no harm at all - thats what dreams are made of and when those dreams come true - well the doubters have no place to hide :-)

well i think that there is a possibility that we are playing Pak's chance too high after two victories. i agree it is very much likely that the series will go down to the last game BUT having said that, we much make ourselves equally and if not, more prepared to face the opposite, a 2-0 drubbing. i don't mean to be the pessimist here, but i don't want people at PP to get over excited because if we do face a 2-0 loss, then the unfortunately the entire forum will be flooded with stupid threads by PPers calling for the axing of the fat and dumb captain inzamam, the lethargic yoyo, the unpredicatable afridi, the snail paced rana and the yasir follower BUTT...

I KNOW MOST OF US WON'T DO THAT, BUT I REALLY WANT TO PROTECT THIS FORUM FROM BEING FLOODED BY THESE POSTS AT ALL

Congrats to Pakistan for making it through and good luck in the finals! They have played quite brilliantly over the last week ... and deserve to be there ahead of the Windies! Pakistan can win in the finals if:
1. The Pakistani bowling can hold it together.
2. One/Two of the Pakistani batsman (Inzamam, Youhana, Razzaq, Butt, Malik) bat(s) for a sizable number of overs.
3. Afridi, Razzaq get a piece of the pie during the last 10-15 overs!

... you just never know - particularly in the ODIs! Miracles are possible ... even against the modern-day juggernauts, steamrollers! :-)

Good point Yorker - Pak bowling is the key - if they go into meltdown during some crucial phase, our fielders tend to self destruct as well.
