I Met Mushy today

I finished work early today to catch a glimpse of the wily old fox and boy he didnt let me down.

I purposely went and sat near to where Mushy was fielding and managed to have a brief chat with him. Been a long time since I saw him but I managed to get a Kaiso ho Mushtaq bhai in there, his response was Bass bhai Allah ka shukar hai. I asked him If I could take a picture of him and he said no problem at all.

He took 3 excellent wickets including a superb caught and bowled of Stuart Law and looked in good form.

I'll be watching him in action for a longer period on Thursday and hope to have a longer chat with him if possible.

More to follow..................

I think he should be on standby for the Eng tour.

Why not? Hes the leading wicket taker in County Cricket - has bowled more match winning spells than any other bowler - and given Englands inability to play spin on their home tracks, Mushy could be ideal spin king to take advantage of England batsmans flawed techniques.

Not for all 4 tests - just have him their ready to come in for a 'one -off' test if required.

Look at the mess Murali made of England!

Not to mention the success of Shane Warne last summer in the Ashes against England.

Comparing Mushy to Warne and Murali? Tee hee...

Play him by all means, when he returns 1 for 100 then you will see Danish is a much better spinner. England players are also far weaker against legspinners than offspinners, the only offspinner who has tormented England in recent years is Murali and he is a mile better than any other current offspinner- in a different league.

Mushy has tormented the english county players for the last 3 seasons no reason why he cant do that against the test side. btw he is a leg spinner as well.

I completely forgot what kind of spinner he was to be honest. It has been a while since i saw the fella bowl...

Pak were considering Mushy for the series last year but stuck with younger blood (Kaneria) and he produced 2 matchwinning displays on the last day, helping win the series comfortably for Pak against the same batters that Pak will be facing in this series. That is a pretty solid argument in favour of Kaneria, assuming that one specialist spinner will be picked with Afridi + Malik at backup, both useful little bowlers

And has for the bolded comment, test cricket is WAY different from county cricket. Is this so hard to udnerstand. County records should not be read into much in any case, some players have been woeful in the counties but good in tests, others have been excellent in county cricket but found wanting when they either first play in tests, or return to tests after absence from the international team.

That said, if it will be 2 specialist spinners than it should be Mushy and Kaneria with your all-rounders bowling a few as well

I would consider two leg spinners against the british. It might be a wicket taking cover for shoaib.
