Aus vs Pak at Perth - Discussion Thread

The way the points stand right now Pakistan cannot guarantee getting into the final even if we beat Australia today. Pakistan have 7 points and Windies have 9!

If Pakistan beats Australia we will get 5 or 6 points and that will put us on 12 or 13 but if windies beats us then they will be on 14 points and get into the final regardless of the result today.

So basically this match is immaterial in the grand scheme of things because win or lose it wont effect who goes into the final (unless the Windies game is tied or rained out).

However i want to see us win this game in order for the team to gain some confidence and prove to themselves and to Australia that they are capable of winning a game vs the worlds No1 ODI unit! And also we better win just in case the Windies game is rained out!!

It could rain on tuesday meaning 3 points each there we need to make sure we get a bonus point and and improve out net runrate.

the weather is fine for the next few days. I don't think it will rain at either match. We need to get some self belief back tonight and then whoop the windies to pieces inshallah on Tuesday. COME ON PAKISTAN!

Batting on perth will be very hard to say the least. WE need a very good start. Butt needs to click and inzi has to make it count once more.

Yea was it a good choice to drop a regular keeper for a not even a makeshift keeper on the most fast pitch in the world...

Only reason if Kammy is injured

Replacing Akmal with Younis Khan was a huge mistake and Younis' poor keeping proved it. The fielding was beyond a joke today. Almost every fricken over had atleast one or 2 misfields misfield which got really laughable at the end. I really felt sorry for Rao, Khalil bowled well for a debutant though. It's still hard to believe we had Australia 200/7 despite our horrid fielding! Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping we score 267... |-G

why did they move fine leg back up in the circle for the last over? i think it cost us around 8 runs. Rana had just bowled a super over before, using inswinging yorkers really well. then we see inzi pull fine leg in for the last over, and rana started bowling wide of off, and too short as well, got hammered by Clarke. For the last ball, I saw him signal to inzi to send fine leg back, and immediately bowled a super yorker to clean up McGrath. Why???

did not get to watch the aussie innings but did YK keep that bad

i mean looking at the scorecard, he has got 3 catches, which does not look that bad or perhaps it were the bowelrs who bowled real wel and got him all those chances

YK's keeping was very ordinary. The catches were all sitters. His keeping to Afridi in particular was terrible. I dont blame him as he isnt a natural keeper. However, his feet just werent moving, and footwork for a keeper is vital

Agree what u have said...

INzi is a joke when it comes to fieldplaceing

Pakistani fielding and younis Khan keeping is the worst ever fielding I have seen... Pakistani fielding made Balgadesh fielding like World Champions...
