Factory of the Bowlers, Return of the Pace?

Considering that we would be taking Akhtar, Sami and Rana to India, can we now finally see the return of Pace from Pakistan, which for since the loss of Waqar and Wasim had suffered in this department, as all three can hit 90mph atleast.

And don't give me that Line and lenght is more important, considering that All Pakistani greats so far have started out from sheer pace, and then learned their way to control along side or after their debut.

Look at what your current line and lenght bowlers being rated by our fans.

and if Irshad gets selected then you have three bowlers u can cross 95mph.

I would love to see Sami, Rana, Irshad and offcourse Akhtar

Pace - it don't mean a thing unless you can swing!

Length and line is always important otherwise the faster you bowl the faster it comes off the bat.

Rana has impressed not by his pace but his length, line and importantly SWING (& also his attitude, SuperHuman commitment and determination). Same is true of Razzaq, Rao (against the Aussies), and Khalil.

Time to put this infatuation with pace to bed. Otherwise you end with replicas of the great injured one - who are only Superstars because they play in the age of the speedgun.

well, offcourse, those who make it to the international level, need to have the swing, and in our case, Reverse Swing is a pre-req.

but Pace is the single most important pre-req for us, and the sole reason why Sami is still an automatic choice.

And finally we may have four 140+ bowlers.

& that's why we've never been the best. We need bowlers with pace but also discipline. The best batters can always wait to pick off the bad balls. The best bowlers don't bowl a four ball for 3-4 overs. No point bowling fast if you can't land it on a decent length and line. Go Fetch!

No!

We have not been the best due to the internal team politics, offcourse a bit a match fixing here and there.

But When Waqar in his early carier was a wicket taking machine, same was with Akhtar, and still is.

Same goes for Sarfraz and Imran

I would however, rephrase the Pace to Quality Pace.

Amoeba is dot right

just one thing though

For swing to be effective you should be able to do minimum 85-86 after that I dont really care how fast they are so long as they swing it prodigiously

so, according to you guys .... the furious attack of indian team which has Pathan, Zaheer and Nehra would be the ideal attack??

cuz supposedly they qualify for fast bowlers ... and supposedly swing ....

I here by release a Fatwa: Those who are not obssessed with Pace, are not true Pak fans
