Lost interest in Pak-Eng series!

After watching England being thrashed by Sri Lanka in the ODI’s and then suffering further injuries I have totally lost interest in the pak-eng series. It seems as if it will be very one-sided with England not having there main players and no competition at all. It seems as if it will be very one-sided. Anyone else agree????

Doubt it, England usually compete much better in the test matches. I emphasise 'usually'

England will probably provide us with a tough fight. We just can't underestimate them. They have a settled opening pair, a really class batsman in Pietersen, some good performers Collingwood, Cook, and two really good fast bowlers in Hoggard and Harmison. Harmison is very dangerous in England and Hoggard is a really good bowler. They also have a very decent spinner in Panesar.

It'll be a tough series but I still expect us to come on top.

I would be delighted, but very surprised, if it were a one sided victory for Pakistan. But I completely disagree with your point about losing interest in this series. I have not lost any interest whatsoever and I cannot wait until the 13th!

Although from you, it's gone from 'England will be demolished' to a more cautious approach so we must be doing something right

I (of course) want Pakistan to hammer England but I'm sure this injury wrecked England team will be no pushovers and will lift their game for the test matches, thus making them hard to beat. Lets not forget that they are still a good test match team. As for the one dayers ...

Tough teams tend to fight back when the chips are down. England lost the ODI Series to Sri Lanka due to the weak bench strength. Their 'back-up' bowlers were simply not good enough for International cricket (except for Dalrymple). The batting for the most part was quite ok, the last ODI produced a 300+ total for the hosts. If they can get their bowling combinations right they sure can give Pakistan a test

You will be saved from that if the selectors pick the right bowlers. Lewis and Gough are better than Mahmood and Kabir Ali. Heck even Kirtley is better I think. BTW Rob or Whippy is Tremlett injured?

Fair play it had become a difficult wicket, but England had to work hard to get themselves in a position where they would have runs to play with on the last day. Also how many away teams have won a test at Mumbai lately?

Tremlett is fit and taking wkts for Hampshire, he has potential for sure. However he probably isn't ready for England team yet, the batsmen in international cricket are of a much higher standard and his captain at Hants (Warne) is a much better motivator of bowlers than most.

England at home will be tough,,, its just a bit more equal now...

Pakistan losing their main bowlers and England have the advantage of playing at home where their bowlers even the lesser ones excel.

England dominate India in two out of three tests and it's all down to the pitches? which i might also add England play on all the time in blighty!

Dont worry - Pakistan, for some inexplicable reason, always keep the opposition interested !

Dont worry comma,
it wont be one sided aty all. Dont you know about the Pakistan team? They adapt according to the opposition. They have a consistent habit of never winning (or for that matter losing) a match before making it tough for themselves and their supporters.
Like Ian Chappel rightly says, you can accuse Pakistan of playing bad cricket but you cant accuse them of playing boring cricket.
I think most of the matches will go down the wire and a clean sweep is all but impossible.

I dont think it would be so easy for Pakistan to win this series (Test Match & One dayers). I think England will re-group and will come strong and Pakistan will have to really do well in all departments. I dont think it will be that one-sided.....

Pakistan will get ODIs 5-0. I am fully confident of that now.

As for the tests... thats the main challenge!

If we win the tests, I have no doubt, I am 99.999999999999999999999999999999999% sure that we will win the ODIs.
