Don't feed the trolls

PakPassion is a phenomenon!!

We've managed to get exclusive interviews with Mohammad Hafeez, Yasir Arafat, Mohammad Irshad, Aamir Sohail, Rashid Latif, Aaqib Javed, Bob Woolmer and Wasim Akram is also in the pipeline!!

We attract users from all over the world and fans from many different cricketing nations!

We are linked to the Pakistani coach's website!!

And today we were linked in two respectable newspapers. Dawn from Pakistan and the British broadsheet The Guardian!!

Not bad going is it?

However this level of publicity also attracts the degenerates of the internet and they would like nothing better than to get negative reactions from all of you. Some of you saw the threads today by a poster claiming to be American, we all know he was from somewhere else but can I urge you not to get involved.

PakPassion.net is above such pettiness, so just ignore the thread and immediately report it as well as PM'ing any of the mods. If you dont feed the trolls they will leave of their own accord!!

Right on Mercenary!!!!!!!!!!

(BTW few months back there was supposed to be an interview with Salman Butt, I beleive)

We also need some kind of system where such kind of post can be checked in REAL TIME before getting posted..........

Unfortunately that interview fell through, we also lost the opportunity for an interview with Razzaq. Insha Allah maybe we can resurrect them sometime in the future??

No forum can be monitored 24 hours. A response time of 10 mins is excellent as far as I'm concerned considering there is a match going on and tons of posts are being made every minute!!

Moderators have offline lives too and cannot be expected to be available 24 hours a day. Part of the responsibility also rests with members, who can (or should be able to) easily skip over trolling posts. After all, this is the internet, if you don't like a post just ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist.

Here's a good analogy - when you see a heaping steaming lump of doggy poo on the sidewalk in your path, do you a) step over it, b) around it, c) make a note to mention it to the next traffic cop you see; or d) jump up and down screaming and pointing at it and arguing with it for being there?

some wise words there, other PPers would do well to take note.

Trolls are looking for a reaction, a reaction makes their efforts worthwhile. No reaction means a wasted effort and an angry and upset troll.

PakPassion itself is 6 years old but we celebrated our first independence day on 27th Jan 2006. We started right from scratch on 27th January 2005.
