Its not true.

Any move would be ILLEGAL as the transfer window ended on 31st January for this season.

I have no doubts he will move on in the summer-but likely team is Arsenal.

Best young prospect in England-better than Beckham, but will Beckham be dropped by Sven the stud? No way!

Yeah i agree with oxy- he'll probably go to arsenal-and follow in his dad's footsteps!

Manchester City chairman John Wardle says they will do everything they can to keep Shaun Wright-Phillips at the club next season.
The 23-year-old has had a superb season for City this year, firing him into Sven Goran Eriksson's England squad.
A knee injury looks to have curtailed his season but that has not stopped talk over a move in the summer.
Kevin Keegan's departure has added fuel to talk of Wright-Phillips leaving City, with Barcelona now joining Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea as admirers of the pacey wing man.
City have big financial problems and a £20 million sale of Wright-Phillips would ease their worries, but Wardle says they are desperate to keep hold of their star man.
"We will do everything in our power to keep him here - he is our player under contract for another three years," Wardle told the Manchester Evening News.
"We have never said we want to sell him and he has never said he wants to leave.
"There has been no official approach."
Keeping Wright-Phillips would mean that City would have limited resources to strengthen during the summer.
A lack of funds would hinder their chances of landing a top manager to replace Keegan, giving Stuart Pearce a great chance of landing the job full time.
Pearce has already begun trying to improve the squad he has to deal with, starting with an improved fitness regime.
"The players will find that they will come off the training pitch feeling like they have trained a lot harder than before," Pearce told the club website.
"The time of training sessions will be very similar but they will be asked to work much harder and we will improve their fitness.
"The demands we put on them will be much higher and we will keep pushing and pushing. But it won't be just me pushing them.
"They will want to push themselves and I will be interested to see the feedback I get from them."

This is not possible he WILL NOT stay at city- they have nothing to offer him!

Well he wont shaft Man City- and leave like Rooney left Everton did.

When he goes, he will still be admired/respected by the real fans of the only real team in Manchester.

If only Liverpool were challenging he woiuld be great for us.

phillips is Manchester City's best outfield player, great pace and skill

REASONS TO STAY

1. There’s no evidence to suggest that Wright-Phillips is unhappy at Manchester City; this is a club that traditionally values attacking talent highly and both fans and team-mates love him.

2 Manchester City may be mid-table in the Premiership but there are signs that the club could push on next season. Robbie Fowler is beginning to show his old style and the defence has become one of the best in the league. Even now a run of wins could even push City into the UEFA Cup slots this season.

3 The player is still learning. His career has really taken off in the last twelve months but City under Kevin Keegan’s guidance is an excellent place to continue the development and have another season as the undisputed leader on the pitch. Keegan has been enormously supportive of Wright-Phillips and is known as a coach that young player’s love to play for.

4 Why rush a decision on a move? There’s been a lot of talk about which clubs might step in for him but why be rushed into a choice? Wait and see how the Chelsea revolution pans out, whether Arsenal can revive etc.

5) At City Wright-Phillips is a star in the ascendant, the best player in the squad and his profile is extremely high because of it.

REASONS TO GO

1 Whatever improvement Manchester City make, they are unlikely to make it into the Champion’s League places in the next couple of years. With his talent Wright-Phillips should be a starter at even the biggest club and so should be able to experience the highest level immediately if he joins an elite team.

2 Kevin Keegan has left come what may, and this is bound to create uncertainty about the course of the club under a new boss.

3 Sven-Goran Eriksson’s selection policy for England always favours players at elite clubs. If you aren’t playing in the Champion’s League Sven doesn’t put you in the starting XI.

4 Wright-Phillips may find himself in Steven Gerrard’s no-win situation- crucial to his team’s performance, yet surrounded by speculation simply because he is so far ahead of his colleagues. Under this level of media speculation, even one poor game can generate a lot of comment about supposed lack of commitment.

5 If you’re going to carry on learning, do it in a pressured environment with a club involved in the biggest matches.

With the World Cup in 2006, the critical factor influencing the player’s judgement will be what steps he needs to take to ensure selection for the tournament and hopefully a regular place in England’s starting line up. In this regard, Sven-Goran Eriksson-indirectly- probably has more influence on the player’s career than anyone else

Ronaldo---was great in Euro 2004...but for ManUre he's just a girl wearing too much jewellry and make u and hes a diver.

Rooney-what a gypo.

He'll end up in jail the way he is going...foul mouthed and a discgrace on the pitch-but good player no doubt.

Actually it was a poor kick from a back pass that deflected off a German, and was volleyed in. A freak goal, but he looked distraught-maybe even in tears.

He is top rated keeper, so he will bopunce back. It wasnt an error in the mould of Dudek/Kirkland/James.

I'm backing him. Just read a few match reports. A genuine mistake. As long as he learns from his mistakes, he'll be fine.

Do you think it is possible that he could be our no.1 next season? I'm pretty sure Dudek will go as part of the summer clearout

Xavi: Shaun is Wright for Barca

Xavi has added to the speculation regarding Shaun Wright-Phillips by insisting the England midfielder should join him at Barcelona.

Wright-Phillips has enjoyed a splendid campaign that has seen elevation to the England ranks, in a run of form which has attracted admiring glances across Europe.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all thought to be pondering over a summer swoop, whilst Barcelona are the leading chasers on the continent.

A bid in the region of £17 million could tempt City into a sale and Xavi has encouraged his club to make an approach for the pacey 23-year-old.

''Shaun is a very quick winger and a great player,'' said Xavi. ''He would be a great success in our team.''

Speculation has suggested the player is already learning Spanish and that he has not ruled out joining the English exodus of Michael Owen, Jonathan Woodgate and David Beckham in Spain

------------------------

This looks more likely than him going to Arsenal

SWP is a talented player and im sure Barca know that but he's at the peak of his career and the club he goes to can make him or break him!

Barca are a great team but in the end his dads sucess lies with arsenal and imo so will SWP-tho he is not as good as his dad-yet

soz- i didnt mean he was i meant when he is at the peak of his career

yeah- obviously he's gonna get alot better he's only 24 but i just dont wanna see him fail- like beckham when he went spain-he's finished he's no longer that young, fresh talent- or if he goes to another prem club it can only be arsenal, man u or chelsea- that way he can guarantee he'll win a trophy!

i think he should stay in the prem for a while then maybe in about 5 years time he could go to barca-so he can just enjoy himself and just play some european football

where would we play him? only place i can see likely is replacing belletti at right back or possibly instead of deco but deco needs time. We dont need another of these type of players - we need van bommel on a bosman or mascherano and then marquez can move to centre back and we will have a really strong defence once we add a left back too

Man City chairman vows to resist SWP offers

Manchester City chairman John Wardle has vowed to resist bids for £20m-rated star Shaun Wright-Phillips
Wardle had previously refused to rule out selling his club's prize asset in a bid to reduce their £62m debt.

But on Friday Wardle insisted he would do everything in his power to keep hold of the emerging England man.

"We will do everything in our power to keep him here - he is our player under contract for another three years.

"We have never said we want to sell him and he has never said he wants to leave. There has been no official approach," Wardle told the Manchester Evening News.

Xavi urges Man City's SWP to join Barcelona

Barcelona midfielder Xavi has urged Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips to join him at the Nou Camp next season
''Shaun is a very quick winger and a great player,'' said Xavi. ''He would be a great success in our team.''

SWP is already taking Spanish lessons and is a prime candidate to be sold by cash-strapped City to give their new manager a healthy transfer kitty for the summer market.
