When we are not terrorists, we are cheats’
http://www.thenews.com.pk/top_story_detail.asp?Id=2630 By Khalid Hussain LONDON: A group of youngsters, all either Pakistanis or of Pakistani origin, stood in front of a mosque in an East London locality engaged in an animated conversation. The topic was the ball tampering allegations against their cricketers. They were all angry, very angry. “They just want to paint us in a bad picture and tarnish our image by telling the world that when we are not terrorists, we are cheats,” said one of the members of the group who later identified himself as Zubair Khan. “The fundamentalists among white people want to show the world that we are bad people and so are our sportsmen. It is totally unacceptable,” he adds shaking his head in dismay. The lad, who came from Quetta a few years ago in search of greener pastures, is an avid cricket fan and believes there is no way the Pakistani cricket team cheated in The Oval Test as accused by Aussie Umpire Darrell Hair. |
