Asif/Shoaib

Hi Guys, can someone please describe how they bowled today? I heard Akhtar didn't even hit the 90mph mark? How was thier rythm? I think the problem lies with the rest of our bowlers...

Thanks

because the batsmen let them down and failed to give them a reasonable total to defend the bowlers failed to apply the appropriate pressure to take the wickets

Shoaib didn't bowl as well. He reached a max of 89mph. He was not at his best. Asif bowled excellent-he was extremely unlcuky!

He is at his best, this whole series he has been phenominal just today he did not perform, our team did not perform. Shoaib was trying to keep it tight and he was bowling 89mph not quite his usual 90mph plus but still FAST and his line and lenght was good.

You will see next match he will be bowling 95mph plus and asif will be swinging the ball like anything and pakistan will win 3-1 Inshaa'Allaah.

Asif has done very well with the new ball and there's no reason to move him.

If Naved is struggling he's got to figure things out for himself. We cant move someone who's consistently doing well and is a genuine new ball bowler to accommodate someone who's been off color for a while.

It can't be done no matter how much of a bias there is towards Naved.

umm - naved was doing well till he was moved
i also hold that naved is more dangerous than asif in that position

Rana did open against India and was outbowled by Asif. They bowled alongside each other and Asif generally outbowled Naved.

Even in this series Asif has been extremely effective and thus there is little sense in moving him.

bad patch and too small a time frame to base it on

Also given that Shoaib is a genuine strike bowler and can go for runs at times it makes sense to have someone like Asif open with him as he can keep the runs down.

It would make more sense to have Rana open in place of Shoaib if it has to be.

Rana for Asif is a No.

Sometimes we must look beyond personal likes and dislikes.

That last setence has that bit of a mirror like quality to it, if you look close enough

I do agree with you re shoaib but since that won't happen, i would prefer rana over asif. the time frame you are quoting is too small and co-incides with one of the contestant's bad pat
