We could learn a thing or two from Windies bowlers

I watched the Indian innings today and boy was I impressed by the Windies bowling today, especially in the death overs. Pakistan bowled very ordinarily in their last match bolwing half trackers and good length deliveries in the final ten overs when they really should have been pushing it up fuller.

Watching the Windies today, I think it was one of the spinners that really impressed me. Towards the end, he constantly bowled yorker after yorker after yorker, or atleast very full deliveries. As a result, Dhoni, who had previously hit two gigantic sixes, was really bogged down and the Indians couldn't get away. At one stage the Indians could have got 240 even if Dhoni was given space, but he couldn't. Same goes with their pacers, they bowled very full.

One thing else I noticed, was that the Windies bowlers used subtle variations in pace to outdo the Indian batsmen. Dravid and Tendulkar were often found playing and missing because they couldn't pick up the slower deliveries. Yuvraj Singh gave his wicket away due to bradshaw's change in pace as well.

I really feel that the Pakistani bowlers could learn from today's match and apply it for tomorrow.

Geez, it was one bad game. Our boys are quite well bowling at the death. How many times have we dragged things back. Whether it was vs Sri Lanka, Australia in the VB series against India. We dont it so many times that we will not do it every time. Every dark horse has its day and well yesterday was NZ's day.

West Indies got pummelled by Australia in the death overs in the malaysia series or they got pummelled against Pakistan in the VB series. What does that mean? That they need to learn some or anotehr. No, every team has its day and every team has its bad day. Get over it and I am sure our bowlers will improve on it next match.

Uh, I'm talking about this particular tournament, and these particular pitches. The West Indian bowlers obviously did the trick. And we need to learn from them meaning we need to pick up on these key things that helped the West Indian bowlers.

Note, I only talked about the Windies positives, I didn't dwell on Pak's negative aspects much.

A team always has to be ready to adapt to any situation.

It does not matter what pitch you play on. The theory is you just bowlit full and straight. Our guys failed to do that last game. Will tehy do it every game? No, because we have seen them capable of bowling at the death before.

Stop being a drama queen people. Honestly, just create a thread right now that says "congrats south africa." You already have written your team.

Have I? I was merely suggesting that Pakistan could well get a refersher in their minds as to hwo to go about the death because EVERY bolwer lacked the right length in the last match..

Geez, a simple point and you make me out as a team basher. Its called "how to improve"..thats what I wanted to discuss.

Pakistan should really persist with one spinner in the dying overs. This could be in the form of Afridi/Hafeez firing it in at a fullish length. I think this would be rather effective just as the Windies have shown today.
