The Sufyan Munir thread

On the old pakpassion and on the new one i have been supporting this guy to make our national side. There are a number of reasons for me supporting this batsmen firstly he has good solid technique which enables him to produce good scores, he has a fantastic conversion rate from 50's to 100's in the first class game.He has also captained gujurat at domestic level and had some success there and at 23 he is i feel the next big thing, he also bowls handy leg breaks.

here are his stastics

http://www.pcb.com.pk/Pakistan/Playe...791/19791.html

i think him and h raza are the posssible replacements for inzi when he goes.

your views on the guy[/u]

I have never seen him so cannot comment. Who has seen him here? Has Noddy bhai seen him?

Has a pretty good record in domestic cricket but then so has Misbah Ul Haq.

agree with hash again
but no 100s in OD. bit worrying who u r touting as a replacemtn for one of the gretaest pkaistani batsmen of all time. but he is young and promising. as an inzy replacemnt, i think it will be shoaib malik.

no hundreds in odis doesnt matter because sometimes you have to play for the team rather than your average but give him time.

Take a look at Hasan Raza's record.

He is the next in line if you ask me.

heard all this cr@p before....sufyan is probably another one from the hype cupboard. His avg of 40 in domestic cricket aint exactly out of this word. Take a look at indian batsmen 1st class avgs:

Sehwag> 54.18
Sachin>60.97!
Ganguly>43
Dravid>57
Laxman>54
Yuvraj Singh>47

I think we need a middle order batsman for the ODI team who can bowl 5 or 6 part time overs and is a decent fielder.

Everyone averages over 50 in India. MS Dhoni averages 50, just shows how spineless their bowling is.

Just seen the scorecard for Habib Bank v Sui Northern Gas for the match that was played today and surprise surprise! Sufyan Munir has scored a one day hundred not out to lead his team to victory.

Although a century is good, I noticed that Taufeeq Umer and Imran Farhat were in the bowling line up so I don't know how much he was tested.

Although he got a hundred batting at number 4 let me also point out that his team were only chasing 205 for victory and the opposition bowlers included Farhat and Umer. At the international level, you will need to chase bigger totals against better bowlers so it will not be as easy to score centuries and lead your team to victory.

monkey off his back hopefully. wish him all the best, we need some more solid bats that can play in all conditions, but he might have to wait his turn with inzi and yoyo, and now yk and asim kamal forming a solid mid order

there was a vid on here posted a while back - about 30 sec clip of highlights of bashir - looked classy - like i said - best man to ask is NODDY BHAI himself - spot on! it isnt coincidence that noddy said about year/18months ago that bashir was a fine player and played some great shots - since then bashir has exploded!!! i mean he scoring for fun! he is 32 though but classy!
