Pakistan WC2007 squad
This would be my 15 for the worldcup:
1.HAFEEZ 2.AFRIDI 3.YOUNIS 4.YOUSUF 5.INZIMAM 6.MALIK 7.AKMAL 8.RAZZAQ 9.RANA 10.SHOIB 11.ASIF 12.HAMEED 13.FARHAT 14.REHMAN 15.GUL (Assuming all players are fit at time squad is announced) Openers: Hafeez, Fahrat, Afridi (Akmal can play here aswell) Middle order: Younis, Yousuf, Inzimam, Hameed All-rounders: Afridi, Malik, Razzaq, Hafeez Wicketkeeper: Akmal Bowlers: Rana, Shoib , Asif, Gul, Rehman To me this seems very balanced squad with players for each role and backups incase of injuries. Only exception being just the 1 wicketkeeper but i think Younis can keep aswell. What would be your squad? I think most of us will agree on the same 12 or 13 players. |

Gives us a good long batting line up without compromising on the bowling much. Though do Malik and Afridi interchange in the final XI or is there room for both?

My squad as follows in no particular order:
Hafeez Butt Afridi Younis Yousaf Inzamam Akmal Razzaq Gul Asif Akthar (Sami if Akthar is not fit) Rehman Rana Fawad Alam Shoaib Malik So just one new name. I want to put Hasan Raza in my squad but I could not find a spot unless I either drop Rana or Afridi.

But seriously, knowing our selectors, this probaly is the squad our selectors will pick. My squad is different and probaly will never happen!

Amir your squad is decent, but what bothers me is how can you throw a untested player like Fawad Alam into the deep end, WC 2007? I don't know how good he is, as I haven't seem him bat, but its asking a little to much off him isn't it? And a bit of experimentation which our selectors aren't known for.
