Victory in Ahmedabad - gloat/discussion/next match issues...

I think the article below pretty much sums it up beautifully on the state on Indian Cricket & Mr. Ganguly....Let me know what you guys think of this.....

Can't do nothing right

Amit Varma and S Rajesh in Ahmedabad

April 12, 2005

It will be long debated if Sourav Ganguly, whose current form with the bat is that of a tailender, came out to bat at No. 4 before Rahul Dravid out of responsibility or selfishness. Either way, it did not help the side. The platform when he came out to bat was perfect for quick acceleration, but he pottered around uncertainly, as out-of-place as an octegenarian at a disco. You knew the end was nigh when he charged out to Shoaib Malik, missed the ball completely, and Kamran Akmal muffed an easy stumping. "They let him go deliberately," said someone in the press box. "Pakistan want Ganguly to keep batting."

But he was run out in the next over, a decision made by the third umpire. The players huddled together after the appeal, waiting for the decision, and a buzz went through the crowd. Then suddenly they cheered madly, this home crowd, because their captain had been given out. Ganguly walked back slowly, as the loud applause at his dismissal turned into louder booing. You felt sorry for the man, but unfair as this salt on an open wound was, that wound was self-inflicted. And only one man had the medicine. (AV)

now who says that the match/series is fixed???? the match is won on the last ball which could have gone anywhere, probably Inzi could miss that one.

this is fascinating stuff by the entire team. almost everyone contributed in chasing this huge one. we got to 316 in 48 overs without a 100 scored by a single person.

thats called a team game.

Inzi sank India and Terdulkar... didnt he.. He pulled a Miandad on them in their own backyard. It took them good 15 years to get over that 6 ... I am hoping this will keep them in their place for another 20..

For your attention Sid maharaj.

Don Bradman: Average of 99.94 SUPER

Sachin Ramesh Terdulkar: Most Centuries and runs in ODI and over 10,000 runs in Test cricket AMAZING

Brian Lara: World record holder of highest test and first class innings EXCELLENT

INZI: Hitting a 4 off last ball of a Sachin Ramesh Terdulkar over for a win in front of Indian fans baying for blood PRICELESS

for everything else there is a CA Plus bat on sale on CA's website.. you can buy that ...

By now most Indian fans would know what to do with it....

Sachin Tendulkar played a glorious knock..That Inzi also played a Master-class doesnt suddenly change that. Also,Sachin has played a lot of winning knocks in ODI's..

but lets not trash one Great player to praise another..Today is Inzi's day..WHAT A KNOCK.BRILLIANT!!

Exciting match. Its an insult to these players when ppl keep talking abt fixing after every close encounter!!

Sachin's glorious knock,,the Afridi power, the direct hits and runouts by Ind and Pak,the great catches, the fantastic run-chase,the match-winning Inzi knock..-ALL FIXED!!

Grow up you pathetic guy who cannot see a glorious ODI match without thinking abt fixing..Shows the type of person one is..

What a glorious match!Had everything..fantastic batting, great catches,run-outs excitement and deserving winners!Well done Pak. You have evened the series at 2-2 and we are all set for a grand finale! This is what ODI cricket is all about.Lets enjoy it without getting nasty abt other players!!Congratulations again.Pak deserved to win.Well done and onto the next match!

We must not forget Sami's contribution with the bat. Yes, he may only have got 8 runs but they were vital as it took pressure off Inzamam and therefore he didn't have to go for the big shots.

Congratulations to everybody for this truly magnificent victory. I never saw any of the Pak batting as was interviewing today at work, but will watch the highlights later.

Make no mistake, flat track or not, to chase 315 runs successfully is an awesome feat and the players deserve every credit.

I am suprised nobody's really mentioned that today's victory was even more praise worthy as it came off 48 overs. That 315 run chse in 48 over. Wow. Knowing that we have 2 overs less than 50 adds more pressure even though India had the same number bowled to them.

Inzi is rewarded with RS 1 MILLION for his knock today by Pervaiz Musharraf. It's encouraging that president is backing his team but despite of all the pressure and everything, i think the whole team deserved something. At least Afridi,Salman Butt, Razzaq and MALIK should have shared this money.

It's not about money, but the recognition they deserve for their brilliant performance.

Classic moment of the match was when, there was one ball left

and Inzi went up to ask casually 'how many balls left?' to hariharan

Oh man thats nerves of steel!!!!

PAKISTAN ZINDABAD!!

and congrats Tendulkar on another brilliant century be it your team lost on the occasion again.
