SL vs IND: 3rd ODI from Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, Margao.

SL to bat 1st.
30 minutes late, due to a damp outfield

The pitch at the Nehru Stadium looks a batting beauty, a good flat one-day track as the euphemism would have it." Other experts feel there's a good amount of runs in this track, but that the spinners may get some purchase out of it later in the day.

Lasith Malinga has been rested and in his place comes Dilhara Fernando. Incidentally, the four men who aren't playing for India today are Sreeesanth, Irfan Pathan, Robin Uthappa and Anil Kumble

You can watch that Catch here, but it was nothing like the catch of the decade. There have been better catches, it was similar to Kaif's catch ( Pakistan v.s Ind, 2004 Karachi )

first of all thanks of the link but i disagree because in M Kaif's case he was straight/side ways but in Mahroof's case he was running backwards so that right there makes it a far better catch than that of M Kaif.

7.6 Agarkar to Jayawardene, no run, back of a length on off stump, defended to mid-off
7.5 Agarkar to Jayawardene, FOUR, overpitches it a bit this time, Jayawardene doesnt get to the length and drives it on the up, but does find the gap at cover for four
7.4 Agarkar to Jayawardene, no run, good length outside off stump, when he hits that spot he's deadly, and the batsman is forced to leave it be
7.3 Agarkar to Atapattu, 1 run, good length, inviting the drive, he does so loosely and finds the gap behind point for one
7.2 Agarkar to Atapattu, no run, back of a length outside off stump, he hops to defend into the off side
7.2 Agarkar to Atapattu, 1 wide, this one's too wide outside off stump and duly called wide
7.1 Agarkar to Atapattu, no run, good length outside off stump, good movement again, he leaves it be
Agarkar wants a piece of the action, I'll bet

Would he really now?!

Good thing for SL is that M Atapattu is primarily an opener and also has an excellent technique so he shouldn't have too many problems facing Zaheer!

I think was during the CT that he had a bit of chat with Mcgrath and ever since then he has started to bowl like him....not a good idea IMO he needs to be India's genuine wicket taker and bowling line and length is not going to get him there. I remember back in 1992 when W Akram was bowling all over the shop Imran simply told him that get your L and L back while bowling fast and i don't want you to compromise on pace.

19.4 Harbhajan Singh to Atapattu, 4 byes, Atapattu walked across the stumps, in an effort to work with the turn, misses a flick shot as the ball turns down leg side and it beats Dhoni as well and four byes result. Not wide but byes as it spun from the stumps and just slided down leg. Dhoni must have been unsighted by the shuffle of the batsman

He has quite a deadly doosra...in the last match he got Dilshan with an unplayable one!

Don't want to get into what happened before. I was just making an observation from today's match (and the last match). It's at the point now where I can easily pick the doosra as he's bowling it simply from the arm action.

Commies now saying that this is so slow a wicket that 210-220 might be enough if Sri Lankans bowl well.
Since this is India..... this could be true....with Sehwag and Yuvi making up the lower middle order

Streaky 4 on a top edge. Agarkar almost had the catch but it just went over him.

Running has been good from every batsman on the Sri Lankan team. They are pinching every available single.

as expected the 5th bowler is giving IND a problem...they should try to get Irfan in the team and bat him at 6

5th bowler has definitely been a problem. Tendulkar and sehwag have combined for 4 overs, no wickets for 26 runs.

Dilshan playing extravagant shots against Agarkar. Just play and misses though.

They keep taking quick singles. This time teh ball goes straight to the fielder and they still pinch one.

yea...i guess when Yuvraj gets fully fit then he might be able to help out.

So looking at this SL team i assume that when Vaas and Murli get back they are going to drop Kulusekra and Fernando so that will leave only 2 fast bowlers(Vaas and Mahroof).....now that might be a problem in the power plays.
