Year of the Pakistan comeback??

After australian tour everyone thought Pakistan team was down in the dumps but i believe its hardened them to the point that they have become the toughest players at the moment after getting beaten so badly by australian even though they thought they were number 3 in the world

1) Draw Match vs India first Test (Big comeback)
2) Win in Last test match (Big comeback again)
3) Comeback again after very bad performance in first 2 ODIs

To me that sounds like a good team and credit should go to the coach... but to others those are just average performances from an average team !!

I wouldnt look much into couple of good performances, true the team has played like team and is not replying on one man but we still have a long way to go, a test series victory in Caribean and a test series victory against England will show how much we have improved. There was never really a doubt about the quality of our one day team, it is there ranked up in the top 3 but the test cricket leaves alot to be desired. MIG you are putting too much emphasis on the coach, remember its the players who have to go and play out there not coach.

Nauman:

I know I go OTT on support for BW and Inzi but I look at the overall effect of BWs help for the team to plan their innings and execute it.

Look yesterday, on Afridis wicket, Razzaq could have walked in and tried to blast a quick 20 in 5 balls - yet he stayed there - shifted to a run a ball and gave the Pak innings some more solidity. I see this and say, someones had a chat to him about how to play this and it could be Inzi and it could be BW - maybe both - after all BW is there for a reason ?

if this happens to be true then Pakistan has hit a jackpot as most of our players are young and cud be expected to play for another 10-12 yrs

tht means a whole decade of Pakistani dominance

You know its something i once read in Bob's reply to a question he recieved on his website that really made me think.

He said that when the team loses or does badly the coach gets all the blame but when the team win or does well its the players and captain that get the credit. He however did go on and day that it always will be like that and he is prepared to live with it.

I dont think that Bob gets his due recognition sometimes. He needs to be given credit too for the comeback in this series and in the Test series. He has played just as much a role if not more in the victories as Inzi and the rest of the players.

Pakistan should definatly be a contender for the next world cup and if we can improve on some minor things I truely believe from the bottom of my heart pakistan have enough talent to win it.

Geee you've spoken the words from my heart RAZ bhai I agree, WE shouldn't ignore Bob for the sheer hard wrk he has done for us. If he stays for longer periode od time I'm confident Players will become Pro's!

Our team Should carry on this 'Hard working attitude' if they want to win the WI Tour and England matches!

Heres and interesting quote from BW website:

Hi Bob ! Nice to see your web site. Congrats on well planned strategy and good execution of the same in the 3rd ODI.

Recently there has been lots of criticism about Ganguly. His form has dipped in recent past and he seems to be a ghost of his own self, when it comes to his batting. I, as an individual, back him up to play for India. Will you be playing him in the team, in his current form?

You are a great coach and have corrected techniques of Gibbs and others and have made them better players. Do you have any suggestions for Ganguly?

The best team these days is Australia. But India and Pakistan are no less talented. If you had to tell one factor that differentiates Australia from all other teams, what would that be ? and how do we grow towards being world champions.

Wish you all the very best.

-Nagesh

Hi srinagesh77,
To reach the standards of Australia the attitude and committment would have to match that of the Australians at all levels of the game. This is not teh case at the moment. Yes I would have some suggestions for Ganguly but I am aprofessional, and I am paid by Pakistan so no tips here.
Bob
