High Scoring World Cup???
Read on cricinfo that Ian Chappell thinks 500 may be reached in this World Cup by a team.
I don't agree and I hope we don't get near that total. Basically, the Windies pitches will be low and slow (I HOPE). This would suit Pakistan and the other sub-continent teams. However, this type of pitch does not facilitate big scores and again that is good. I'd rather see an even contest between bat and ball. The scores in the practice matches seem to support the low score theory. |

Warmup games are played on different grounds so the tournament ground pitches might play differently but one thing is for sure the grounds are not small.

400 to 450 is possible: But 500 is almost impossible: However Cricket is a game of all possibilities...Look-out for South Africa to be the team hammering those 400 to 450 score...Yes: Uptil now the practice games have brought lower scores...

I think most of the wickets wont be that high scoring, due to the slowness in nature.
Look at the friendlies so far and most teams have even struggled to reach 300.
