Have we finally given hope on Rana?

(I've not noticed this discussed in another forum, Apologies if i've missed it.)

So, Rana didn't bowl today at all; assuming that he is not injured this was the last opportunity that he could have performed and come back strong. Is this a case of Pakistan looking beyond Rana now, or it just a rest?

This basically indicates to me that Rana is not going to play against the W.I, and now Pakistan's attacking policy is based around Sami and Gul. Rana may get a game against one of the minnows but his chances are looking faded.

I really would have loved to Rana get his groove back, because the in form Rana will give you 2-3 wickets every match. But Rana's confidence is low and yea it seems like team management don't want to take a risk in playing him.

Apparently Sami bowled with success against South Africa as well, making it even less likely that Rana will be in the running.

Rana and Rao didn't bowl today to give Sami and Arafat a chance. Simple as that.

how do u know he's better then sami recently ? Sami hasnt even been given enough chances of late to prove himself. he got once chance and that was in the warm up match where he did really good. And Sami also has a brain while batting unlike this guy.

we're hopeless, what a stinker he put up today, both with the bat (trying to play defensive shots when the RR was still around 7 and Malik was trying to launch and get in a rhythem) and the ball at the death.

Nazir: walking wicket, free out for anyone

Hafeez: His Dad's gotta have good connections with the PCB. I see no other reason why he is anywhere close to sniffing the national side otherwise. avg = 18 S/R 58.00 FOR A ONE DAY OPENER, LOL

Inzy: LBW machine

Younis: *** WERE YOU THINKING?

Kamran Akmal : Cursed

Rana: Absolute worst player in any Test playing side.

Kaneria: Spinner who can't bat, or take wickets in ODIs

because he has been our best odi bowler since the 03 WC and the only the option we have is Sami.
But yea I agree with you that time has come for him to be dropped

Rana didn't bowl that badly today.

Was just one or two of his overs which went for runs.

I reckon that Roa and Gul should open the bowling with M Sami coming on as the 1st change! Except for Rana's opening spell and the last 5 overs I really liked what i saw from the bowlers.

the thing is that recently he's been really bad, and has been selected again and again, he should be given a break.. others like sami and arafat arent getting chances cuz of his selection..

Rana's being picked because he's got a beard and his Sussex buddy Mushy's running the team behind the scenes.

In the end he was going at over 5 RPO and didn't pick up wickets. He is a liability to the team.
