Can Inzi be opener??

Inzi on his day is a brilliant player but plays slowly these days for my liking.
Add to this his inability too take two's and three's in the middle of the innings which is so crucial so i am thinking if we can use him as opener giving him more opportunity to hit boundaries.

no way he is our best ODI batsmen

i think Younis khan would be tried as an opener as he always come before an over is completed courtesy to Imran nazir and hafeez

i think Younis should open with malik and hafeez should bat at six as we can't leave him out as he is an excellent ODI bowler picked up two wickets and of lara

Personally i believe Moyo to be our best batsman now but thats a different subject. The massive problem with Inzi in the middle is he just can't take two's or three's so we're constantly missing out on vital runs.
People seem to underestimate this massive problem we have.

I kinda like the idea of opening with him
at start of the innings powerplay will allow him to drive the ball and find some boundaries.
at the position he comes in the good shots he plays gives him just a single even if the guy on the boundary has to make some groung he is not quick enough to take two nor is he willing too and this really hurts the run rate. In the match today not only inzamam played slow but also made yousuf to play slow as yousuf is the guy he looks for quick singles and two and threes in the middle of the innings which he can't do while parternering with inzamam and that frustrated yousuf resulting him to play false shots to get some runs and fall of wicket.
Every past player is asking him to open even imran and i don't think they are all crazy they have lot of knowledge about the game and have a fair point of view

Glad to know Usman agree's with me!.Bottom line is Inzi walks a single everytime giving him little time for a second or even a third. He's a powerful man who will be better suited using his strength at the start of the innings. In the middle and late on we need guys who can run fast like Shoaib Malik and Moyo.In Afridi we also have a power player later in the innings so seems ideal.

Never be!Neither he have the technique to play moving ball nor courage to play when the oppositions best bowlers are bowling with the new ball.
If we loose him early there will be big phsycological blow for otheryoung batsman too.

I don't agree that there is a big psychological blow in losing Inzi - not anymore.

As far as technique and ability to open, Inzi is far better equiped to open than the likes of Hafeez, who averages 18.8 from 45 innings at a SR of 58.

Inzi should play attacking cricket at the top of the order. If he fails, he fails, but he won't be doing any worse than what he's done in the recent past lower down the order. It's worth the gamble and these upcoming games against the minnows are the perfect time for him to try it out.

If he is not willing to consider this idea, the next best move is to play him at no. 3, with YK coming at no. 5. YK is not the kind of player to take advantage of fielding restrictions. He's the type of player who would be practically perfect for the no. 5 position - eg., accumulation of singles with only the odd boundary. He wouldn't have to slog at 5, nor would he have to try to take advantage of the fielding restrictions to get the team off to a flyer. YK's natural game is accumulation of runs. Use him where accumulation of runs is the objective.

Inzi on the other hand has a wider array of shots and can play aerial shots better and is a more powerful hitter. Use him up the order - he's not a good runner anyway and bogs down players like Yousuf and Malik when he bats at 5.
