Breakthrough as Woolmer suspect is caught on camera: The Independant, UK

A suspect in the murder of the Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer has been identified from security camera footage in his hotel, amid growing evidence that the former England player was drugged with an ancient poison.

After three weeks with little apparent progress, investigators in Jamaica announced yesterday that there were "significant developments" in the hunt for Mr Woolmer's killer or killers.

As mentioned in second link I posted :-->

Aconite -- an ancient poison, also known as wolfsbane -- is said to be perfect for concealing murder and has been used in several high-profile assassinations in Pakistan.

Wolfsbane is mentioned in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', when the schoolboy wizard is quizzed on it by Professor Snape.

And in India no such assassinations with Aconite poison.

Exactly what I was thinking!

Aconite has been used for centuries all over Asia and Africa and was also used in Nazi Germany. For some reason the media want to pin it on Pakistan. Fair enough, let them do that if that's what they want

Unlike TOI i.e. The Times aka Trash of India, The Hindu is considered to be among the most credible source of media. But if you have a preconceived mentality where anything having hindu in it has to be wrong then no one but only you can help yourself.

Nowhere anyone has confirmed that Pakistan or anyone related has been involved, it can be Indian bookie or anyone WestIndian too. Just seeing the Pakistan name shouldn't make you so defensive. Accept the fact that it's the Pakistan coach who has died. So be prepared to see bit of Pakistan in the related news. Had it been the Indian coach, it would have been India instead of Pakistan.

Why Hindu had to mention Pak only when Aconite poison is used every where? Why this only reported hindu and no one else?

What irks me is that the bumbling detective Shields and his cronies announce to the world that they wish to reinterview Younis Khan and Inzamam ul Haq.

Why not just do it, why make it sound so suspicious - pathetic !

The papers are sounding it look like a pakistani personnel's involvement, and hence the talk of diplomatic efforts. I don't want to jump to conclusions but it seems that they have a pretty good idea.

Remember guys, the focus must be to bring the culprits to justice regardless of their nationality or race.

CCTV Tape for real or clever ploy to get suspect to make a mistake?

Woolmer case taking too long

Saturday, April 21, 2007

Dear Editor,
After over a month, with the whole world watching, Bob Woolmer's murder is still unsolved.

Police, too busy beating and killing decent citizens to actually investigate, and looking more stupid than usual, had to be supplemented by a team from Scotland Yard, which ought to have been en route within an hour of finding the body.

This wasn't some "found-dead" local where no one cares whether she was murdered by her doctor, given the wrong prescription by a pharmacy, poisoned by some "dumped whatever", strangled by her husband or suffered a heart attack.

The whole world was looking at Jamaica when in one of our better hotels (one where you can't get the elevator to open on a floor you are not cleared to be), with security cameras all about, a well-known man was found dead by a housekeeper. And no one knows who, what, where?

Of course, unlike the usual nine-day wonder, this particular incident isn't going away. AJ can't guffaw it out, Portia can't appoint another double-digit committee to study it, Peter can't make a talk-tough speech, and the commissioner can't build his usual stonewall.
The whole world is wondering why it takes so long to identify the people seen on the tape (if there is a tape).

Maybe some country, watching our "show", will take pity on us, build a proper forensic laboratory and train a few people in crime-scene investigation.
