England To Play 52 Tests And 90 ODIs In The Next Four Years – To Host Twenty20 World Cup In June 2009
Submitted by Sudhakar Shanbhag on Thu, 2007-06-14 170.

It’s cricket crazy. The next four years of international programme will see England playing as many as 52 Tests and a minimum of 90 one-day internationals.

Following is how England’s international schedule pans out starting from their final one-day match against India on September 8 before they fly to South Africa the following day for the Twenty20 World Cup and then the Sri Lanka tour and so on…until they host India and Sri Lanka in the summer of 2011.

They will also host the second edition of Twenty20 World Cup in June 2009.

hope pak doesn't play that much 'just think about our bowlers getting injured and eventually no bowlers to select

Excellent Tests to ODI ratio, wish PAK had a similar ratio.

It's not that much. England play around 8 or 9 tests in their home season every year don't they? Throw in 1 or 2 away series per year and you get up to 50 tests in 4 years easily.

Apperantly, Australia are to play 20 tests next year. That is 20 tests in one year! That is the amount we play in three years!

That doesnt seem high at all!

13 tests a year (so about 3 series) and 22-23 ODIs a year (again about 4 series/tri-series) type tournies.

WHat is the PAk schedule like? 20test matches and 300 ODIs in 4 years?

England are damn lucky. I wish Pakistan could play with such a nice differnece between Tests and ODI's - England have a pretty much perfect schedule when it comes to the number of games played. How many are Pakistan playing?
