Amir Khan gears up for Olympic re-match

BRITISH Asian Olympic silver medalist Amir Khan`s re-match with Cuba`s Mario Kindelan was confirmed on Monday for the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, England, on May 14. The 18-year-old featherweight, who was beaten by Kindelan in the gold-medal bout in Athens last summer, is expected to turn professional before the end of the year.

Frank Warren will co-promote the fight, with all proceeds going to Khan`s local gymnasium -- Bury Amateur Boxing Club.

“This is the biggest amateur fight out there featuring the two best boxers in the world and Amir can now fully focus on the big test he has ahead,” said Warren, who had originally scheduled the fight for April 30.

Khan, considered to be a genuine world title contender when he turns pro, said he hoped to beat the vastly experienced Kindelan when they meet again at the home of Bolton Wanderers soccer club.

“I appreciate and respect the fact that he is coming over to England to fight me and I am looking forward to playing with him again,” he said.

“I feel very strong and confident and I am sure I can reverse the decision this time.”

Im afraid Kindelan is too experienced and powerful for Amir Khan at this moment in time.

I would obviously like Khan to win, but I just can't see it happening.

i feel that khan is a bit over rated like audley harrison
if he does go to the next olympics then he will not win gold because cuba will have produced another champion (young)
