Jehangir Khan honoured with 'Lifetime Acheivement Award' !!!

Jehanghir's achievements acknowledged
Saturday 7th May 2005, 09:30 BST

Pakistan's Jehangir Khan, widely acknowledged as the world's greatest Squash player, was honoured with a 'Lifetime Achievement Award' at the inaugural World Squash Awards, in London last night. 41 year old Jehangir, who's now president of the World Squash Federation, received his award from Peter Nicol, Britain's first world number one. Jehanghir dominated Squash throughout the 80s and early 90s, winning 6 world championships and 10 British Open titles, remaining unbeaten for 5 and a half years - a feat thought to be unparalled in modern sport.

zushy ... sharam kar!! shuttle cock??? so who was it that you really saw in qatar??

for jahangir ... what a guy! and when he was a kid his family thought he would never make it and had much higher hopes for his elder brother who sadly passed away in a squash court. he deserves all the recognition he gets. and i'm pretty sure jansher will be getting all jealous once again. > > >

Hey I once saw Nazia Hassan and Jahangir "frolicking" ( careful MIGs version of frolicking is a tad more conservative - can mean talking ) in Liecs sq. ! It was round Xmas time and they have that fair in the square - they both shared a ride

I know this is highly relevant to this thread so thought I would share it.... pro bono publico....

YES!!!!!

The one sportsman whom I deem higher than any sportsman in the world who ever was or is!

What a Man, what a Legend!!
He was told he might never be able to pla ydue to his hernia problems and he went onto achieve what he did!!

Hats off to him!!!!!!!
Im particularly partial to him as well cause he used to train where i used to train and though we were little kids and idiots at that, he was always willing to advise and help us 13yr olds out!

and no umerz, i dont think j got married to nazia.

Man im Happy for him!!!!!!

A sporting legend a someone Pakistan can be proud of.

I met him at Dubai airport a good few years back and whilst he was being hassled for autographs, he took time to sign them all and chat to people in a very amicable way - seemed like a really nice guy.

when you gotta go ...

pia squash complex is on kashmir road in karachi. that used to be the spot where most championships were held (including the pakistan open where international players would participate) and many of our players trained.

i remeber going there for one final when i was about 10 or 11, i think it was between jansher and ross norman, and some idiot journalist kept taking flash photographs from the upper balcony area i think it was, just above the court. the angle made it flash right in the players eyes and the referee finally had to ask for the guy to be removed.

met jansher outside the doors just before he was introduced to the crowd and walk in to the main hall. he was busy warming up, but had this big smile on his face when i started taking photographs. goes without saying that he won.
