Danish Kaneria: 200 wickets

Guys ,Kaneria is on the verge of a milestone . He has taken 198 wickets from 46 matches at an average of 32 . Not bad from 7 years .

He should bowl from Taufel's end throughout the series.

This should be a deciding series for Akmal. If he misses chances i don't want him in the India series.

Danish would've been well past 200 if he had a half decent wicket keeper

On that link to the umpires standing in forthcoming series, I just had a look at the umpires for the Pakistan tour of India. And somewhat shockingly I note that Billy Doctrove is due to stand in two Tests!

You would have thought with such a series such as this, they would aimed for the best umpires to stand, not the worst one on the elite panel.

Moin was an average keeper too. Our best keepers were Bari and Latif.

I am sorry, but past performances should not be given much consideration when it comes to picking players. Same was the case with Razzaq and that innings that Akmal played was almost 2 years ago. He has done nothing since.

I hoep kaneria starts taking more wickets. Leg spinners normaly need help form keepers and fielders. Where as off brak bowlers tend to get more lbw and bowled ( thats how i see it). Kaneria needs to get to 500 wickets at least in next 4 to 5 years.

As DK only plays test cricket these days, that would be some trick as it would require him to take 100+ wickets per year!

Even the great Shane Warne only averaged about 50 wickets per year, and the Aussies play at least 3 tests more than Pak on average per year.

DK's biggest problem is that he overbowls his googly, so batsmen look for it. He also bowls a shorter length than Warne, again giving the batsmen time to watch the spin.

Akmal drops kallis yet again but Dani boy gets 200.

Hopefully this is the worst 200 wickets he takes from the 900 he will end up with inshallah.

We are so desperate that a mediocre bowler and cricketer like Kaneria is being hailed as a hero. Look at his average, no better than Mushy look at his strike rate and it's even worse.

It demonstrates the dire state Pakistan Cricket is in when we have the likes of Butt,Hafeez,Misbah,Faisal and Kaneria are walking into the test side.

congrats on his 200 wickets.

However once again he has flattered to deceive in conditions where he really should be wiping the floor against a team who are notoriously weak against spin.

Over the wicket, round the wicket, wrong un, top spinner, leggie, quicker one, flighted delivery, half tracker, overpitched - why is he trying to do too much, why not keep it simple and work the batsman out. Stick to the plan, why keep trying to bowl 6 different deliveries each over and sacrifice your accuracy.

Warne was a prime example of someone who had the variety, but more often than not he had a predetermined plan for each batsman and he stuck to that plan. At times it was Warne's nagging accuracy that got him wickets.

I think after having so many chances dropped behind the stumps you have to change a working plan. Kaneria is relying a lot on his googlies these days.

PS: SAF are not so bad against spin, they handled Murali pretty well not so long ago.
