Your Favourite Shahid Afridi Innings

salam, i was just curious to find out your fave inns of boom boom aka THE BEAST.

for me it has to be the sensational 45-ball 100 against the indians, the series was level 2-2 and although 250 was a small target he was still under quite some pressure due to his own form despite hammering a whirlwind 23 ball 40 in his previous inns.

Kanpur. No doubt about it. Pure massacre. Everything was sailing into the crowds, and there was a shot of an Indian fan with a large mustache, holding his chin with his hand, in pure disbelief

He silenced the Indian crowd with brutal hitting that day.

For ones I have watched life, it was to be the Kanpur Massacre. 45 balls of pure and utter carnage and an innings in which he dominated every single bowler he faced.

The chennai 141 was the only knock of Afridi that I rate in tests alongside that quickfire 58 he hit in bangalore in the last series to set up 261 in 50 overs despite yasir's best efforts to give us ample time to bowl India out and draw the series. As far as ODI knocks go I think his 50's against Australia were far better knocks than his slogfest 100's

The 45 ball 100 vs India. It had a little bit of everything, the best part was when kumble came on at the start and afridi hit him for 20+ runs in his first over. It was like take ten wickets against us will you?

77 off 35 balls.

Everyone PLEASE watch this.

Thank you to Usman for the clip, which is of good quality.

This is an enormously stunning massacre of South African human bowlers at high quality including butchering Nel for 45 runs in a single ball that went to the moon, sweeping the mighty Ntini for a humiliating shot for his fifty that would make any mortal fast bowler grovel on his knees, see Woolmer's reaction after that shot! Barbarically massacring perfectly good deliveries straight down the ground off any wooden part of his genocidal club. Detonating yorkers, the conventionally failsafe stock for fast bowlers, to their ultimate doom.

In addition to this and others mentioned above, I absolutely love his ritual annihilation of Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath (that led to Ponting shielding him from Afridi for the rest of the series) and the other bowlers during the 2005 ODI series in Australia.
