Fawad Alam, Adnan Raza, Khalid Latif, Sohail Khan, Anwar Ali, Mansoor Amjad, and Sarfraz Ahmed should be given atleast one game each.
Im not saying play all these guys together in one match but play 2 youngsters at a time. If the first 2 matches are won then play all these guys together to see how they handle the pressure.

I would keep Afridi in the team & make him the vice-captain to see how he does. Afridi has spoken out so much on how he would like to be the captain than once he lost that to Malik he mentioned how he would like to be the vice-captain. For once PCB should give the man the job, sit back & let afridi do his thing.

PS- since Younis is so reluctant why not give afridi a try?

Not only to give young blood a chance in the zimbabwe series, but also to give confidence to the likes of some improved performances in the recently concluded test and odi series. Omidahomies Eleven:

1.Yasir Hamed
2. Salman Butt
3. Mohammed Hafeez*
4. Faisal Iqbal
5.Misbah ul Haq
6.Fawad Alam
7.Yasir Arafat
8.Abdul Rehman
9.M. Sami
10.Rao Iftikhar
11.Umar gul*

Cpl of u fellow pak fans, might be suprised by the mohammed hafeez.s inclusion, but i think he was missed in this test series, as he is a good opener, and since his return in the early 2007 season, he was quite decent, starting wit that 92 in england. He would a been an asset against india, in the low pitches and also his bowling would have come in handy, where we had only 3 bowlers at times. Imran Nazir should play, shahid nazir should be brought back.

Afaq Raheem
A 22 year old right handed opening batsman, he is playing his second domestic season and has been impressive in OD games. Prior to domestic experience he also has played league cricket in England which must have fine tuned his technique somewhat. A promising prospect from Azad Kashmir, young, tall, and decent built.
He can also turn his arms and has 9 wickets at a very handy economy rate of 4.60 in 19 games, an off spinner.

players that must be given chances regarding of how the xi looks should be Khurram manzoor, khalid Latif, Fawad Alam, Sarfraz Ahmed, Najaf Shah.

Possibly Mansoor Amjad but i feel like he has nothing to offer since his bowling has virtually disappeared and he's not a good enough specialist batsman to make the playing eleven. Alot of hype about Sohail Khan but i would let him complete a season of first class cricket first but would be satisified with these changes.

Hasan Raza should be in contention for one of the middle order spots but one part of me says that his time has probably run out. I just wish never to see Faisal Iqbal in Pak unifrom.

so here would be my squad

Khalif Latif
Khurram Manzoor
Salman Butt

Misbah Ul haq
Fawad Alam
Shoaib Malik
Hasan Raza
Shahid Afridi

Sarfraz Ahmed
Kamran Akmal

Yasir Arafat
Sohail Tanveer
Umar Gul
Rao Ifthikar/Mohammad Sami
Abdur Rehman

prefered XI would be:

Khurram Manzoor
Salman Butt
Shoaib Malik
Misbah Ul Haq
Fawad Alam
Hasan Raza
Sarfraz Ahmed
Shahid Afridi
Sohail Tanveer/Najaf Shah
Yasir Arafat
Umar Gul

also, there is an option of playing Akmal as a specialist batsman.

I dont think so that our selectors have the balls to select a youngester even against zim..
Malik is also not in favour of young players as he showed when fawad and sarfraz was playing in the last match against india that he is not pleased about their inclusion during toss of 5th odi

ODI Team

Salman Butt (in the last two OD's i would play two young openers)
Khurrum Manzoor (or Afaq Raheem or Nasir Jamshed)
Adnan Raza
Shahid Yousaf
Shoaib Malik
Fawad Alam
Misbah Ul Haq
Saaed Bin Naser (could be another Misbah Ul Haq)
Sohail Tanvir (i think his batting could improve by building up his confidence)
Shoaib Akhtar (or change him for another youngster e.g. Anwar Ali, Jamshed Ahmed etc)
Sohail Khan

I think this is a really good team that will do good, it has a strong and long batting line up, it also has 3 pace bowlers and two spinners (3 spinners if you include Salman Butt).

I think all the bowlers should be youngsters with a couple of young batsmen tried. If we field too many young batsman we may lose some matches, whereas with young bowlers its not that much of a risk.

But Zim make Bangladesh look world class. Zim aren't even as good as a Minor County any more.

Mugabe has gutted what was once a useful international side with his racist interference in selection and general economic incompetence.

Ideally we should have at least 3 of our senior players playing so that they can guild the youngsters while playing... here would be my 15 man squad.

Khurram Manzoor
Nasir Jamshed
Khalid Latif
Fawad Alam
Adnan Raza
Shoaib Malik (c)
Misbah/Younis/Yousuf (I would prefer Younis and trialed as an opener)
Sarfraz Ahmed
Shahid Afridi
Mansoor Amjad
Sohail Khan
Sohail Tanvir
Najaf Shah (if fit)
Anwar Ali
Shoaib Ahktar (still needs match fitness but not to go full throttle)

As there are 5 ODIs being played... Every player should have 2-3 games played. Even play one game where there are no seniors (except Malik of course)

Very unlikely that Asif is going to recover in time for Zim, even chances for Aus series looks quite balanced

*Zimbabwe are scheduled to arrive on January 12 and will play a four-day match and a three-day match before the ODI series begins.

We are playing against Zimbabwe, possibly the worst international team.
We have to be brave and try some new players. pCB should try some new players in 4-day and 3-day matchs.

We should don't have decent openers. In fact we have not been able to find decent opening pair since 2003. PCB should try a new opening pair, we also need a middle order batsman (Adnan Raza, Shahid Yousef, etc). Mohammad Yousef and Younis Khan should rotate, I don't want to see both together.

Players I like to see in ODI.
