The Pakistani economy on Average is growing but the growth is in areas of no value to us.

On the whole we have benefited from increased demand of the type of products Pakistan produces but the increase in the export of those products does not match that of our competitors which means that Pakistan has made a mess of the opportunity.

The economy is being fueled by aid and interest bearing investments.

The aid is not reliable and forces us into difficult situations and the interest bearing investments are only generating revenue within Pakistan. Which means that the net effect of the investments is negative for the Pakistani economy in the long run.

I have a thread dedicated to the topic. My conclusion is that the Pakistani economy is in a bad shape but it is growing. The growth however is not sustainable and the current setup has done nothing but provide short term gains from a healthy global environment.
