Harbhajan given the all clear

Harbhajan cleared to keep bowling- BBC

The International Cricket Council has cleared Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh to continue to bowl in internationals.
Harbhajan was reported by officials during the series against Pakistan and an analysis of his action was made by independent bio-mechanist Marc Portus. Portus did identify differences between the player's action against Pakistan and that in a prior approved analysis. But a "definitive conclusion" could not be reached, which means that Harbhajan is free to keep bowling.

"There is no doubt that the action analysed in the University of Western Australia showed Harbhajan bowling with an action that is in accordance with the regulations," said ICC general manager David Richardson. "The analysis of the action used during the Pakistan match identifies some differences including the position of the feet and the speed of the delivery. "However, Mr Portus was unable to reach a definitive conclusion on the action because of the quality of the footage and the camera angles used. "On this basis the ICC has advised that Harbhajan is able to bowl in international cricket provided his action is consistent with that in the University of Western Australia laboratory. "Should his action deteriorate, it is possible that the match referees would again report him and this would raise the prospect of further bio-mechanical analysis."

The news is likely to free Harbhajan to join up with English county side Surrey for much of the rest of the season.

well from what i saw on the 1000 frame per second camera he was well well over the limit.
whatever ur views on this, the ICC have been weak. they should take a stand and end the ambiguity once and for all.
as someone said, bhajji and murali had been playing a long time and it was not until they began to take wickets they were really noticed though i do accept bhajii chucked in the 90s but fred titmus fixed that.

if u said Shoaib Malik was Jan Zelezny I wouldnt argue!

Bhajji just changes the seam position of the ball to my knowledge - i'd like to have a closer look at it- ultramotion cam is brilliant.

as for shabbir he is nothing on malik.

The difference between Malik bending his arm than Harbajan is Mailk is 'disabled' from a car accident and is not intentionally bending his arm. Harbajan intentional or not just bends his arm and chucks.

15 is 15 is 15 for everyone.
I dont believe Bhajji is a chucker.

Yeah well Gary that's your opinion......The ICC thinks otherwise of Singh , although now they've cleared him......As much as we're all enjoying your infatuation with SIngh, he has been a repeated offender of chucking.....You know what they say - where there's smoke, there's fire......

People talk about Warne's impact on the game. Utter drivel. Qadir was the man who revived world class (leg) spin after ironically his countrymen destroyed it on the 78 tour. Qadir for me will always be better than Shane Warne.
