They may not like him as a person but i do beleive that if he plays 1st class cricket there he would still get the odd a cheer or two and probably a few "birds" as well!!!!!

Yeah I watched the game on fox. Game went down to the wire and it was nice to see YK cheering with the rest of the SA squad. In fact I think Fleming or Blewett made a comment along the lines of "the biggest cheer came from YK when they hit the winning runs." Aparently he has had a really good effect on the rest of the Redback squad, and they're glad to have him.

By the way, Usman Khwaja (Pakistani born Australian) was also making his 50 over debut for NSW in the same game. Didn't make many runs and he did some good things in the field, but unfortunately it was his misfield which led to his teams loss.

If you are playing for NSW at such a young age you are going very well. Usually 50% of the Test team are from NSW.
There are high hopes for the 3 NSW young players (Hughes, Henriques and Khawaja) and the young Victorian quick Pattison (younger brother of the "English" Pattison).
Plus Shaun Marsh (25) , Siddle (23) and Tait is only 25.

It will take him a while to get used to the bounce

Always takes Pakistan batsmen a while to get used to it

I think it's too early to say that Younis is struggling. It takes time to settle down and get used to the pitches and bounce. I'm sure he will make Pakistan pround. He is a class player.

Every time Pakistan tour here it takes the batsmen quite a while to get used to the pitches. Will be the same for Younis.

Younis makes duck on debut

Pakistani import Younis Khan has made a golden duck in his Sheffield Shield debut for South Australia.

The Redbacks were 3 for 76 at lunch against New South Wales after winning the toss and batting at the Adelaide Oval.

Michael Klinger (17) and Callum Ferguson (7) were the not out batsmen for the home side.

Blues skipper Dominic Thornely (2 for 18) removed Dan Harris for 41, bowling the Redbacks opener off his pads.

Younis strode to the crease and tried to pull out of a shot, only to tickle it behind off his gloves to wicketkeeper Daniel Smith.

Ferguson survived Thornely's hat-trick delivery.

Opener Tom Plant was the other batsman dismissed, run out for 7.

I think Younis might be a little out of his depth in this competition. Alot of foreign cricketers find it hard enough in Sydney a-grade, let alone first-class. Hopefully he will improve as the season progresses, but he probably should have spent sometime training in Australia prior to joining the redbacks. Makes you wonder if they should be playing Cosgrove instead.

Milo he has a Test average of 50. If he can't cut it in the Aus domestic competition something is seriously wrong.

You are right should have spent sometime training but I don't think he had that option available.

^indeed, i never got to understand why our team doesnt fly earlier to AUS, to get to used to those conditions...

Its pain in the ass to see PAK lose again and again, because they arent comfortable at all batting at those pitches and bounce

Mystery to me as well.

By the time subcontinent batsmen get used to the pitches they have usually lost the Test series. I don't know why they don't take longer to acclimatise.

Different for the Saffers and English because as Keith mentioned it seems to be a lot easier to go from bouncy pitches to dead pitches than the reverse.

It's been just two matches give him some time.

He did the same for Yorkshire last year..a string of low scores to begin with then it was a century in an ODI match, followed by a double century and another century in the next first class match.

yeah.... Australians are pretty tough on players who dont score, they benched Mark Consgrove who was considered the next big thing for Adelaide and gave YK the spot cause he didnt score in 2-3 matches but he definitely got into double figures... YK's highest score in 2 innings is 3 runs...lets see how the investment goes

Shaun Tait bowling was fine, but consistently hitting 145 KPH. Nevertheless, he still is yet to find his rhythm

Just watching Standard Bank 2ND ODI - Australia vs South Africa - OZ tours of SA in 2006 - Nitni seems to have causing trouble consistently to OZ top order batmen

Aus - 7/4 - 10 overs - never saw score like that .
SA has scored 289 runs.

Cosgrove is too fat to be picked. Won't be picked until he shows the attitude of a professional cricketer.
YK is more value than him even if he keeps failing with the bat.

Great 71 not out from Y. Khan today. Lets hope he keeps this form. It will be interesting to see how he goes on other pitches though.

The score card tells me he's on 39no. Maybe crapinfo is slow. Good to see Yousless Khan do something for a change.

You might want to apply that to some of your national team batsmen

they turn up for one days... the 4 day matches are pretty much empty but it was really empty today because its monday (work day), on weekends stadium is usually half full which isnt bad for first class match

a good inning by younis, 71* was a good effort. He definitely helped his team to save the match.

Foozee: Strike rate of 51 is not slow by any means in test cricket.
