Senior players influence.

One thing I can immediately see from Intikhab Alam's coaching, is that the senior players of the side (Misbah, Younis, Afridi) are more active as leaders in the side. During the games against the West Indies, they were constantly trying to help out, or were giving Malik advice with his captaincy, bowling choices, or fielding placements.

Particularly Afridi, who I saw at least, really revving up Umar Gul when he was bowling. This 'leadership sharing' is a good thing for Pakistan cricket in my opinion, as Malik has sort of mended the relationship with the senior players, and is more open to their contribution to the side. :romeo

Yeah very well said I am very amazed with the Team unity in this team. And that unity for me is the best part of the game.

don't think there was much of problem in first place between players. it was just masala reporting by our "free media" and made up things by posters here on PP

its nothing new, we see this "unity" under new coach/captain/management, let see if it continues after 6 months under new coach. or when masala reports comes out in media, then would like to see fan's reactions

best time to look for these things is once when the team is put under the hammer.

Obviously i hope Alam's man management skills can unite the team but as of now i haven't seen anything significantly different from the Lawson era

Afridi is always active in the field but I did notice Misbah playing a more active role and talking to Malik more than usual.

Nah bro, first Yousuf said something, then Alam admitted he had a team meeting to discuss these issues. Alam seems like a good man manager so far. Inshallah the team unity will remain this way.

I believe that the reports of a rift between Afridi and Malik as well as Yousaf were blown out of proportion by the media. It never seemed to be a problem with them during a match because I have often seen the senior players discussing things with Malik on the field.
