Lack of discipline in ICL.

Many ugly incidents this year

1- The match fixing controversy(most likely) which resulted in the bans of Cairns and Mongia but nothing was made public and most likely these players will be back next season.

2- The "fight" between Dasgupta and Vignesh where the two starting pushing each other and yet they were not banned for a single game.

3- Ball tampering controversy where A Mahmood got away with the whole thing as if it didn't happen.

4- Tony Greig's border line racist comment against the Pakistanis.

5- Drama created by Moin and Inzi today when they should have simply accepted umpire's decision and not wasted 5-10 mins of the game.

6- Rana's sledging of Razzaq. Razzaq actually complained to the umpires but tnothing was done.

Do ICL matches have match referees?

The BCCI has a strong case against the IPL for the simple fact that the tournament is uncompetitive and the fact that it is not properly managed at all. If this match fixing thing alone comes out, i am pretty certain the BCCI will have a field day against the ICL.

In the today's match thread, I posted "was this a scrating I just saw". I think the ball got changed just before that and there was some argument on that. I mostly missed it but heard the commentator ball was changed and I was listening and watched from a distance on small screen. If the scrathing I saw today was from today's match then it was probably Saqlain. Not sure though. It looked like a player had the ball in his hands and left hand had 2-3 fingers tips going on on one side

But today's match with all controversies was great to watch

ICL is new so they might not have enough rules and regulations in place.
as ICC didn't have enough influence in cricket and on cricketers a while back but they are gradually making in tough and tough as far as rules are concerned. I even heard that batsmen used to hit the umpires with bats after getting out coz of wrong decision.

P.S. you cant have robots playing on the field.

moin khan recently presented a series of shows on geo called cricket controversies, now he is creating too many himself and inzi has changed too much, I don't think his team are showing him respect or sticking to his plans

I saw the same clip and saw your comment in the thread but you cant scratch with your palms, Saqi was just wiping the ball with his palms and turning it around like he (and every spinner) normally does before release. It only looked out of place because the camera kept focusing on the ball everytime a Pak player held it for a couple of seconds longer than the camera man thought they should.

Looks like Zee is looking to manufacture a controversy by keeping a very close eye on the ball whenever the LB's have it

The ball was changed because Biiny complained that he couldnt see it and so the umpires decided to change it after Binny got bowled the next ball after comlaining.

As for all the fighting, I say lets take it a step further.

Let's have a new type of challenge, a player should be able to directly challenge an unsuccessful appeal by offering the offending bowler/batsman out for a fight.

Then the other player would have the choice of...

1) Fight
2) Concede
3) Play the rest of the game without a helmet, pad or box!

Thanks Merc for the description. I don't really much wrong with what happened today. It made the match very interesting and the best one yet.

I didn't like the clip of Azhar mouthing off but then someone here said that opposition coach was getting into Lahore territory

That will be India-Australia to me. I got sick of it from series in Aus and went on to the last series. I don't think they could sell it enough as for me I didn't see a single ball. If they keep hype low and make it normal it is better

Yeh how about every time you challenge a decision and get it wrong as a batsman you have to remove one protective gear of the fielding teams choice.

If you get a challenge incorrect as a fielding team you have to send off one of your fielders.

That would make it interesting and the captains will use the challenges wisely.
