I dont think that was ever in question!

Thats why the players wanted him as a coach - because he was a 'good bloke' - unlike the 'nasty taskmaster' Dav Whatmore.

Lawson came in as a nice-guy and left with that reputation in tact.

But its good for him to comment on this issue, as we remember how vexxed he was when Aussies refused to tour Pakistan

How could England return home in 2005? It was up to the Aussies to decide. And it would be double standards for England to return to India, not for them to to stay way. Damned if you, damned if you don't.

Hmm, 1972 Olympics?

he is sounding sensible because he was the coach of Pakistan.

i can bet my life that if any other English or Australian or South African would have coached Pakistan team, then he would have realized the feeling of us Pakistanis too and would have understood the country of Pakistan also.

Lawson lived in Pakistan for a while during his coaching stint. and now he knows a lot about our country. the people who criticize our country don't know any ABC about the country since they haven't lived in the country or understood the people of that country

The saying 'Before you criticize, walk a mile in that person's shoes...".
He is indeed a sensible bloke, I have much respect for that man. It seems he has a very broad understanding of sub-continent culture, and the social effect cricket has on it's people.

He has got balls as well; first he got angry over Australia not touring Pakistan (Takes a lot to get angry at your own country), and next gives England a taste of it's own medicine.

He was always a good bloke, sadly the coaching skills weren't exceptional - which they needn't to be if he was to make a rather average Pakistani team successful.
