Question to Indian PPers...
Seriously, how do you deal with Indian Call Centres???
I spent 50 mins on the phone trying to cancel my mobile phone contract - all I had to do was call them, give my 30 days notice. And hang up! They tried to convince me to stay - which is what I want. But it went on and on - different 'packages' being offered - all of which I rejected. Then they asked me to 'sell' my contract to friends or family!!! I couldnt hang-up because I phoned them!

I usually start of with I am recording this call, and if they start chatting tell them you want to speak to their supervisor because obviously they can't understand what you are saying. Be firm that's all

I am usually very firm - to the point of ritual humiliation.
'3' have just called me up in the last 5 mins and offered me anothe retention deal - which was worse than what they offered me yesterday. I refused - waspolite. He said it was cheap. I replied 'Are you paying for it or me' Then he hung up on me!!! Seriously, do Indian guys living in the West have difficulty with these guys -- or do you use a special codeword and get to bypass all the crap!

Personally, I find it hilarious how they try to convince you that they are :
"Ryan from Sydanaey" "Jack from Melbourne" When you know, with the Indian accent, and the pause between the time you get your message and they get yours, that theyre really Anil from Chennai and Lakshman from Hyderabad.

everytime I get any such call on my office desk number, I just say "dude, you called into a conference room".
He says sorry and hangs up.

I have recently left 3 mobile network as a worker.
After i left my work phone was deactivated. The phones and all the calls are paid for by the company. After 3 years i have recieved a letter from a Debt company asking me to pay 16 pounds for that phone! I phoned up the call centre and they had no clue what to do. Despite me telling them of the process they should use they kept on saying the same thing "call the debt company" I know the process and can not get my issue resolved. Good luck to you lot who are just customers!!! What a nightmare!!!! |
