They tried that not so long ago with their song "Jawaani de chuwarai"
The music was ripped from English songs and they wrote Urdu lyrics using words like saala, Kutta...etc but in an acceptable manner to provoke a reaction from the censor board.
They got a reaction, their song was banned and no one really cared.

I don't think the video is Noori though.

And then every band adopted their kind of style - and overtook them rapidly

and then they have other songs which are different and then there are some which leave a different impression if you are watching the video or just listening to it

dnt think you could get a junoon now as all the new bands are americanized, junoon are legends combining rock with sufism. someone coming out with something like that will be passed off as a paindu today.

really? they were the most popular band in pakistan couple of years ago. concerts use to be full. untill they broke up, their guitarist and drummer left.

and that song ur talking about kuttay, it wasnt banned only the video was banned, coz it sort of showed the culture of the villages of punjab which we dont want it to be showed on tv. they afterwards made another video, and it was aired on tv, well recieved.

comparison with junoon was a bit too much though.

Actually that is one of their first few songs if not the first. I heard it during my second quarter in LUMS back in 2001 when Ali Hamza was either a student there or had just graduated.
