India wants Pakistan declared terror state
Mon, 09 Feb 2009 01:03: GMT

India's ruling Party says the international community should declare Pakistan a terrorist state after Islamabad released a nuclear scientist.

"It is time for the international community to think whether to declare Pakistan a terrorist country," Manish Tewari, the Congress party spokesman was quoted by Reuters as saying.

Tewari was referring to the end of a house arrest of Pakistani nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan.

"Defending him proves Pakistan as not only an exporter of terrorism, but has also given rise to doubts of certain countries, including America, that nuclear weapons could go into the hands of terrorists," Tiwari said in New Delhi.

Tensions between the two nuclear-armed countries have been mounting since a series deadly terrorist attacks on Mumbai in November 2008.

Khan, at the centre of a nuclear proliferation scandal, was released by a court ruling on Friday after five years of house arrest.

Khan admitted in 2004 that he had transferred sensitive technology to other countries.

He has been under virtual house arrest in Islamabad ever since.

Khan has recently taken back the confession and revealed that he was browbeaten by former US-backed Pakistani military ruler Pervez Musharraf's Musharraf into making such comments.

Islamabad has repeatedly denied that the army knew about Khan's nuclear proliferation activities.

In July, Khan told media that Pakistan's army had 'complete knowledge' of the uranium enrichment equipment shipment to North Korea and that it must have been sent with Musharraf's full knowledge.

US President Barack Obama said Friday that he wanted assurances from Pakistani leaders that the scientist accused of leaking nuclear secrets was not involved in any of the activity that led to his arrest.

Meanwhile, Pakistani officials have barred US interrogators from a face-to-face confrontation with Khan, insisting the United States has been given full access to his revelations.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said Sunday that Khan's network has been broken and it no more exists.

Old news.....and desperate stuff from india.

They've failed in their attempts to isolate Pakistan and they've failed in their attempts of declaring us a 'terrorist state' before so they're trying this......again...........and not that it’s gonna happen of course

But then again, india has to 'keep all options open' don’t they?!

You can carry on dreaming India. Pressure is on Pakistan. There is a list of countries that want Pakistan to fail and split. InshaALLAH it doesn't happen.

lol wow they are getting desperate now?? They are not even being diplomatic about it anymore, they are going straight out. Pakistan are just teasing them here... a perfect example is.. when your sibling is trying to tell you something and you don't pay attention to them and then they get fed up and complain to your mom for her to end up not listening either

This kind of comment coming from Terror State that promotes the Gujrat incident, Sikhs massacred, and then, Orissa incident. That's great.

Not only that, Narinder Modi who was BANNED from entring USA is certain to become India's next PM.

BJP uses it's anti Pak (anti Muslim) agenda to win millions of votes from hindu extremists, Congress knows it has to do something to satisfy them and hence these statements.
