Nawaz Sharif's attack on the Independence of the Judicary

Next time you hear this man lie about his desire to see an independent judiciary remember the worlds of Sajjad Ali Shah.....

Hasan - I see where you are coming from but I dont think anyone on this forum actually thinks that NS and gang are good people.

Infact, in one of the threads, Wazeeri actually listed the people he feels that CJ should take to task.

Some people here are asking for death penalties for Mush etc but in my view, all of these guys should go to the gallows!

Sajjad Ali Shah coming up would be the worst thing at the moment because Zardari would then have a pawn against nawaz. This will force Zardari and nawaz into a you scratch my back and I'll scratch your situation which will lead to the NRO being validated in the assembly and the powers of the CJ curtailed.

Sajjad Ali Shah should emerge when Nawaz gets into power and the Pakistani courts have sent Zardari to the gutters.

no this is the best time for an entry for sajjad ali shah to ask for justice and be restored as choudary had been restored, otherwise it will be too later after, nawaz will not be getting into power, ppp will most probably finish there full term but zadari will be dissmissed this year, so he should come on stage now.

Sajjad Ali Shah is 75, he cannot sit as a judge in any court.

All he can do is appeal for punishment of those involved in his sacking.

If he comes on right now then Zardari and Nawaz will become one and we will see these guys playing musical chairs until Bilawal and Hasan Sharif come to power.

Suhaib - referring to NS as ganja etc is abusive and I want you to stop that.

Also a reminder for all concerned - no abuse.

To be honest, Sajjad Ali Shah should have launched a similar revolt against Nawaz Sharif back then just like Iftikhar Chaudry did against Mush. But the environment back then was completely different. No media, no political education of the masses, no political culture in the country in terms of debates, talk shows, interviews, round table discussions on TV e.t.c.

Too much time has passed now and it would be too late for Sajjad Ali Shah to make any case against Nawaz.

What Nawaz did was against the constitution, he and all the judges who sided with him can be tried for it.

sajjad ali shah was twunt to be honest.. his appointment was also shrouded in mystery as Benazir appointed him bypassing a system which had served the judiciary well till then and clearly looked as getting on my team sort of appointment bypassing 3 other senior judges. The fact that Sajjad Ali Shah upheld a decision which overthrew an elected parliament was detrimental in a nascent democracy and the likes of him are the reason pakistani democracy is still immature.. The problem is Nawaz Sharif had absolute power and absolute power corrupts as we know through history.. From what I have seen he has matured a lot but then again what he will be like as PM is open to debate.
