Are any fellow PP'ers going to the Arsenal vs Chavski match?

Incorrect, Moyes came out and pretty much made a slight underhand comment suggest Riley is a Reds fan.

Since people have called him one, he makes it a point to give alot of calls agaisnt us. People say he is a United referee but funny how he gave that team 7 yellows at Stamford Bridge (albeit some deserved, but alot were over stupid things).

If anything, I expect Riley to give a lot of garbage against us.

Came across this: http://footytweets.com/manutd/news/57193

Funny stat: Arsenal have got the most penalties under Riley.

As for United's win percentage under Riley, that is no surprise considering our win percentage is 70% most of the time with any ref.

I just cant see past this Man U side - hate to say it, but its one of the most intimidating line ups I have ever seen.

And Arsenal dont frighten me or anyone. Even CArdiff should have beaten them in the 1st FA Cup game - had we not hit the crossbar in the 88th min.

Lets not contemplate on what should and could have happend. As an Arsenal fan, not any team scare me the way we are playing at the moment.

True, but it is a different Arsenal that is playing now and recovery started during a period in which there was a 4-0 to the same team who should have won at home.

Football is about current form no matter what happened in the past.

This is a team which has failed to beat most of big sides this season and United have had stronger sides then this under fergie!

Exactly, football not played on paper. We have a great chance to beat Arsenal but also a great chacnet o lose, should be a good tie.

Though I think the team of 99 would smash this arsenal team to pieces!

LOL they would get decapitated with the 99 team. Arsenal would be removed from the soccer world if this Arsenal team played that team.

I doubt you've watched any of the matches extensively back then. Trust me, i have and the comparison is just not right. Football back then and today has changed so much. The pace of premiership increased about ten fold and from our many attackers back then (Ole, Sheringham, Giggs, Cole, Yorke etc.) I personally think only Ole and Giggs would suit present day football of our team which is so much more mobile and fluent than back then.

In terms of an overall squad and form, it would take something extraordinary to match the team from 2006-07 season. Ronaldo, Saha, Rooney, Scholes were so good back then that its almost freakish.

youre wrong about Arsenal.. Arsenal for me are the form team and as funny it is to say this rigoberts nephew is doing rather well for them.. I just hope when we play them they are absolutely knackered and rest the big guns because they are such a good team at the moment.. had they not lost players in the summer they would definitely be up there.. I hope that they play 120 minutes of football with arshavin out for a week and wenger having no choice but to rest their players for our game

I have watched many videos from 99 and got some old tapes (and watched the whole season for that matter). I think our counter attacking was much better then but we lacked in defence immensely. We didnt waste much time on the ball and created a lot more opportunites than now. This season we havent been that fluent.

If you are talking about 06/07 or 07/08 I would agree with you. But 99 puts our attack this year a bit to shame. We seem to play a bit slower now and sometimes we dwell too much on the ball.

Arsenal's defence looking all over the place.

Denilson might have been sent off for pushig the ref after disagreeind with him!

Walcott might be the key - but he's a lone figure.

GAme screaming for Arshavin

Arsenal 1 - 2 Chelsea [Full time]

I thought Arsenal were ordinary....keeper gifted the winner.

Why was Adabayor taken off?

And Arshavin as sub?

Wenger will be asked a few questions....

Both Arshavin and Nasri should have started imo. But I guess Wenger wanted to accommodate Denilson-Song so Chelsea's midfield doesn't dominate them.

Either way, some bad decisions cost them dear!

Poor decision to keep Arshavin on the bench and also to sub Adebayor. Most of all Fabianski was rubbish. He gifted the winner.
Chelsea did well. They tried to attack whenever they had the ball and got some luck too. Well done to Chelsea. Unlucky Arsenal!

Yesterday was just another example of why I rate Lamps so highly. He absolutely dominated the game, was all over the pitch and played a big part in all of our attacks and naturally provided assists for both goals.

The ball forward to Drogba for the second goal was ridiculous; Essien headed it down and Lamps, first time without even looking up, looped it over with backspin for Drogba to put away. The assist to Malouda for the first goal was even more delightful but he did take a moment to look up and pick out his pass...

Defensively he put in a real effort, winning countless tackles and stripping possession in midfield. He may be compared to Gerrard but I feel that he does so much more for the team. Personally I think he does the combined job of Gerrard and Alonso (the two assists for the goals were from positions that Alonso operates in).

As Jose used to put it: Fantastic player.
