you guys will find this website very useful in regards to what you can expect from the game. it's basically a forum dedicated to this game, with plenty of pre-test reviews. read them!

I pre ordered it online for the ps3 and received it yesterday morning even though the release date is this friday. Gameplay is good however disappointed with the game modes as you cannot play a test series if it's not the ashes.

You can get the game for £31.86 for the ps3 or xbox 360 from http://www.shopto.net. Games are generally cheaper on this website and quick delivery too.

Batting on the PS3 was fanstast,c you can palce the ball EXACTLY where you want with the analogue controls, making the player feel a lot more in command...fielding has its share of thrills and spills, and catching is a lot trickier than it looks! Graphics are pretty smooth, not out of this world, but definitely adequate for a cricket game! Overall, an absolute must buy!

anyone got torrents that I could use to get this game?

I really want to play this game. Perhaps someone can do a full review of the game and tell us unfortunate ones how it is.

On the Wii

basically the game is a very good start and has a big scope for when 7 if Motion + comes into play. The things that letthe game down are the fielding and well obviously you will want more grounds & teams etc. like which are available on the X Box & PS3 versions.

Fielding wise you controll nothing (as far as i know) and the fielders are very slow and drop quite a few catches which can get a bit frustrating...as i said that was the draw back. But you can put fielders where you want

Balling wise as you could guess you get to point the ball at very you want it to bounce. You can shake the Wii mote before starting your run up to shine the ball which makes it slightly harder to controll but gives it more swing. you have to swing and ball (or flick ur wrist) at the right tym to ball beter deliveries..if your too late its a no ball...wierd thing is if its a no ball he doesnt deliver the ball and you just get and extra run. If you hold A while balling its a slower ball and if you hold B its faster. you flick your wrist to spin and swing the ball & a couple of gd balls allow you to build to a 'Perfect' ball deliverd by pressing A + B.

While batting its alot about timing. The thing i noticed first was that the level at which the settings are changes the timing alot. If your on village seetings even the most mistimed of shots will go for six but thats not the case at international level. iv not really played 1 P but this was certainly the case in 2 P. while batting you can either tym ur shot and just swing and the direction is chosen manually or u hold down and point on the screen in which direction u wanna hit and then swing at the right tym. holding A and swinging will cause a defensive shot whils holding B will go for the loft shot...whoch me and my cuz refer to as 'the six button' from previous Brian Lara games.

To run you press B to run, A to cacnel runs and dive and shake the controller to run faster.

The attributes of the player also play a significant role. Younis Khan is pakistans best batsman, so times teh ball beter, while i think Flintoff is the best English baller so can swing the ball more. Oh yea the batsman timing also depends on how the batsman is preforming for example a few swing and misses will make it harder to time the ball.

There are also a couple of more modes like scenario mode & 1 p ashes mode.

On the whole its a very good first attempt but there is certainly areas of improvment on the next one. Including Motion +, making fielding more controlable, adding more details like players & stadiums, edit names & create players etc. But is defo a very good first cricket game on the Wii

any more q's?

Well so far I've played two overs in 'Easy' mode, to get a feel of things.

It's a T20 match and I've got 55/1 off 2 overs (including 4 no-balls/free hits).

Already noticed some improvements from the Brian Lara games, nothing substantial as yet though.

Kingusama - It's not out on torrents yet

I can't be bothered to pay for a game that has barely been improved and has a very small chance on working on my computer.

So, now we wait.

Honestly, I'm surprised it's not up already, considering it's such a popular game and the first thing people do it put up.

Regardless, it should be up by the 15th if not earlier.

for those of you who have the game on ps3, is it any harder to bat the brian lara 2007. i remember in 2007 if u played multiplayer it be impossiable to get the other person out. even when you played the computer u could hit any type of shot you wanted. let me know if at least that has changed. how is the fielding? and is bowling any better? any one who has the ps3 version it be great if you could fill us in

I've played this for about a day or two and there isn't much change from the BL 07 game, the basics are still there but both batting and bowling have a more varied option about them but still some rather silly flaws, i.e if you are a fast bowler and want to the best type of delivery then you are probably going to bowl close to 100mph.

Research on players is still quite poor. Akhtar bowls 100mph +, Gul tops out at 80mph.

The Ashes part of the game looks quite well planned.

But I'm finding it quite hard to play the ball through the covers and on the onside as most cricket shots are played, the bowlers often bowl really straight and full on the stumps and it's tricky to bisect the field (probably needs more practise), seems easier to play across the line.

You can download it from www.gamesplanet.com I think.

Plenty of people have done it, and it's legit apparently.

EDIT: For like 20 euros or something, obviously.

Out in Karachi now (pirate, of course) and played it yesterday.

It's better than some of the older games, no doubt, but it really isn't a massive step forward. Fixed some glitches, made it run smoother, but there's still limitations and shortcomings in several aspects of the game.

Decent effort.

If anyone has a TL account, they have it.

Other than that I'm pretty sure it will be up on TPB and MN pretty soon.

It's really not that great of a game, for PC anyway.

There's limited stroke play and I got annoyed with it very early.

Maybe I just have to get used to but I don't think i have the patience to do that.

You have to get it shipped from some online store.

PS3 is region free, so any copy will work.

Bowling is near impossible in this game! Only time I get wickets is on easy!

If anyone has a TL account, they have it.

Other than that I'm pretty sure it will be up on TPB and MN pretty soon.
Sign up for TL is closed, what other torrents have it, any ideas?

Torrent Leech. It's an invite-only torrent site.

Downloaded the game in under 17 minutes

I have been playing the game for two days and it's not really that fun. They've spent a lot of time on the Ashes part of the game and it's nicely done indeed, but the rest of the game is basically just thrown in.

I would like to see a lot of work done on the features of this game... perhaps a be a pro mode or at least a franchise mode where you go through the schedule and try to become the best team in the world.

Right now it's dull and even the tournament mode starts from the Quarterfinals. Graphics are amazingly well done but the bowling action are stereotypical and you can't tell the difference amongst some of them.

Not a lot of work is put in the faces of the players from other teams only Australia and England players are really well done and you can actually recognize them just by their faces.

For bowling you wanna bowl in the LIGHT GREEN areas. Also, move the reticule around and set it in a light green area JUST before executing the delivery. Also, using a different button to execute the delivery helps. That's how I got my LBWs.

Basically, pick the straight ball first and then move around the reticule and put it into a light green area and just before releasing, press the button for the out or inswinger. That simulates disguising a delivery.

And I'd give you an invite, but I am a new member and I don't have any.

Bowling is quite good on Normal and Hard mode. I barely give away runs especially when I put them in the right areas.

This chap seems to agree with me, bowling is hard.

Maybe I should play a bit more, I have no idea what 'light green areas' are

Try to give them inswingers along with a little outswing, reverse swing, doosra and arm spin work beautiful as well.

On easy mode everything goes for 4. lol

It's too easy against the computer, even at the hardest level. It's ok when playing against someone.

Not having proper names is extremely annoying!!
