PakPassion Exclusive : Intikhab Alam "We dont want any controversies on this tour"

Speaking to PakPassion.net straight after the press conference following the heavy defeat to India, Pakistan coach Initikhab Alam stated that "there was a blanket ban on all the Pakistan players from speaking to the press". Inti added that "team manager Yawar Saeed had imposed the ban for all players as he did not want any controversial statements to be made by any of the Pakistani players to the press". Inti added that "in the past statements have been made innocently and turned into something completely different".

Earlier in the day Yawar Saeed whilst speaking to PakPassion.net stated that "no interviews or meetings with the players at all will be permitted during the tournament".

Pakistan have not brought with them a Media Manager and so Yawar who is team manager is also acting as the Media Manager, but to date has not attended any of the press conferences, unlike the Media Managers of the other competing countries and has instead left Intikhab Alam to fend for himself in front of the world's media after 2 very heavy defeats.

Well well well.

Blanket ban or not Younus Khan/Yawar Saeed should be there along with Inti answering all the criticism they get from the press.

Younus Khan has been dissapointing in terms of selecting the right players and not being a 'dummy captain'

Is this the reason why Younis Khan is not attending post match conferences? You know many would like to know what is going on in his brain. Even robotic replies like Dubya will do, but the team captain should be there to face the press.

PLayers in the various leagues around the world are required to speak to media. Lebron James met with the NBA Commissioner because he blew off the media. In Pakistan we hide from the media because of our own insecurities which stem from being wrong. The PCB doesnt want the players to criticize one of their stupid policies.

Isnt it a controversy that after everything that has gone on back in Pakistan the players cant muster enough effort on the field. That despite being the privileged few to represent the nation they have embarrassed them by their shoddy performance.

I dont care if the team loses as long as they fight to the death like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and even Scotland. If you dont want to try "Sohail Tanvir" then retire.

I think its more to do with supressing the truth from the players. Thats why i hate the so called "rules and regulations, code of conduct" that is imposed on the players by these chairmans fully designed to silence the players from whistleblowing and from keeping the board in check.

Gambhir and Sharma wouldve taken Shoaib to the cleaners. Shoaib can no longer be given the benefit of the doubt on his bowling. He's become so heavy that most of his energy is spent running to the crease. He doesnt understand that his knees cant hold up his upper body.

The PCB is like the KGB or the CIA. U wouldnt put restrictions if didnt have something to hide.

Fair enough there is ban on players to not speak to the media, but on the captain as well? that doesn't make any sense to me. Why is there ban on the captain? Is that the reason he is not attending the press conferences?

So no Captain's corner on GEO? Someone is losing money because of this policy. Maybe replaced with Coach's Power Hour

That mean Younis can make any questionable decision and not face the questions or not being able to justify his decision - specially on the selection.
