Since Jadoo TV works using the internet you can expect plenty of buffering and freezing. Some people say it's worth it but most tend to say that it's a waste of $200. It's like watching an online stream but on your tv.

Plenty of people have it here in NYC. Almost everyone I know who can't have dish at their apartment etc have this. You do get all the channels and cricket however the quality is weak. I mean if your someone who has multiple big HD TV's in your house...do you really want to watch anything that resembles online streams.

yes you will if you cant put DISH network.

How does it work? How they are able to stream that many channels. I have never seen a GEO SUPER link online. I just wonder how they get that?

Then I guess it is understandable. How do they do it well they stream the channels. Whoever is selling the boxes is doing it. My best guess it is based on SopCast like technology within the box.

A friend of mine had this idea when SopCast came out couple of years ago. At the time I told ended up telling him no one would be interested. :x

Anyway you can get one of these from Jackson height for roughly $150 and long as you have cable internet you will be fine since it is pretty fast internet.

I heard there is another one too IPV or something which costs about $130 of course it was only matter of time someone was going to copy the idea.

$200 is way too much but not all other channels are stupid, Hum tv is one of the best Pakistani entertainment channel right now. ( I have heard good things about ARY too). I wouldn't pay more than $35 for this sort of package. There are other options in the market, i will post a link of a much cheaper option when i get home.

Jadoo Tv from what I know is basically a collection of internet links that are collected and then transmitted to your "Jadoo" Receiver. From the people I have heard who have it, they say it sucks and it buffers to much. It's just like watching streams on the computer, they buffer at the best of times.

i bought it in February and have watched many cricket tournaments on it. the quality is that of a great stream on the net. geo tv. new, ary. geo super. and some other channels only buffer once when u start it. there are few channels that might buffer in between.

also not every channel is of the same video and audio quality. the pakistani channels mostly have great quality and can be watched without being bothered with quality issue on tv.

it is no where close to HD if thats wht u are used to. it is also lower in quality than satelite tv.

i would recommend it if you like the following?
-if you are into cricket and purchasing streams
-crazy about pakistani news stations, many of those.
-wanting to watch youtube on tv
-love indian dramas

currently the following channels are being streamed
ARY digital
Geo entertainment
Geo news
Geo super
Hum tv
Star plus
N-tv
Sahara one

Sun TV

the thing i am using here in saudi is a reciever named dreambox the thing is u just connect the dsl connection to the reciever and all the channels come automatically, reciever costs 800-1000 saudi riyals and u get all showtime, pehla, orbit, super sport channels, ART sport channels and pay an additional 300 riyals after every 6 months to renew

the quality is like original

it comes by many names like spider, v-box and etc.

The Dreambox is an exceptional receiver - there is an awful lot you can do with it beyond internet television. Many people who buy a dreambox do so in order to hack pay channels and foreign channels.

I was about to ask the same question.

Will it work in North America? Especially Canada?

Also, is it only cable? So that means no desi channels?

Internet TV should work anywhere. As for receiving free satellite channels which would otherwise cost money, this should also work anywhere in the world. In fact, the dreambox is widely used to receive, and decode, encrypted satellite channels. Of course, the satellites you wish to receive would need to be available in your area, ie if you live in the UK then you cannot receive signals from an Asian satellite.

For example, a satellite named Astra beams SKY tv into the UK. It is possible to use the dreambox (rather than an ordinary Sky box) to watch all those channels for free. It is illegal though and so not recommended - even though Sky does charge far too much money for its services.

Incidentally, a basic dreambox should cost about £60.

If you want to know more about what is actually a pretty complicated subject you should google "dreambox cardsharing".

The box can connect to another person's box (using your internet connection), enabling you to watch all of his channels, meaning that you can use that person's card as though it were yours. If you connect to enough people you could potentially decrypt EVERY channel, whatever its encryption system. There is something of a community for this on the internet.

I dont actually have a dreambox and use a legitimate sky subscription. And i should point out again that it is illegal in most countries.

Got Jadoo and I have been pleased so far. Almost all the desi channels are working and the quality of the cricket broadcast is a bit better than willow.

i would recommend it if you like the following?

Paid 200 US dollars. Currently I'm getting almost all Desi channels but I only care about Geo Super and TEN Sports. These 2 are up 24/7. I'd spent over $200 purchasing streams over the past year so this was worth it. The quality is pretty good. Not as good as regular TV like dish or cable but its pretty good.

Seems to be good. DOn't fall for the HD trap though, HD and SD have the same quality. They've stopped selling the SD box now and sell the HD for $250.

If it's second hand, make sure you get the myjadoo username and password details as it's linked to the serial number, without the password you can't update your channels.

If it's secondhand then don't buy it. You can buy a brand new one for $250.

I don't think you can. I tried it once and it started a new movie. I was 2 hours into the film and haven't gone back to that movie yet! You can pause it.

How did i miss this thread!!!

JADOO TV is not that good avrg qualti and its only good if you have the old tv 4:3.

Its mostly good for your parents for those who cant use a computer so its make life easier that you dont have to search channels and watch it though jadoo tv on TV.

if your watching it on demand then you can't rewind and forward, very annoying when my 1 year old daughter gets hold of the remote control while we are watching something.

But If you connect a memory stick to he back of the box, you can download all the films from Jadoo TV and rewind / forward while watching.

3 Idiots took about 20 minutes to download.

logon to myjadoo site and add new channels, my box took 24 hours to activate properly.

Also, put the remote control in a safe place, it's very small and can get misplaced easily, the box is useless without it.
