Young Guns, Old Legs

Watching the likes of Yasir Hameed and Salman Butt reminds me of the time I went to watch an over 40s veterans match. Gosh these guys are young, fit, professional athletes, yet their levels of anticipation. movement to the ball and judgement in catching is abysmal.

I was thinking that too. It was the young-guns and part-timers that were the worst in the field. The regulars were mostly OK

hameed is one of the worst cathers, he usally drops around 2/3 sitters every tounament. butts fielding has also been very poor.

Yaar these kind of pathetic grasping bends me like bowden. Our bowlers did a great job, they ran in all day, and because of these jack-and-jill cartoons had to bowl out a batsman not twice but thrice. I wonder what the hell I'm doing sitting here at home, if thats how they field, I certainly can too. The dogs of Pindi are breast feeding their pups. |-n

Salman Butt agin today absolutely abysmal in the field. Ground fielding, dropped a sitter, throwing and his lack of attacking the ball in the outfield.

What is with these guys, a couple of good knocs and they become superstars. Salman, some advice, cricket is a great leveller, hero to zero, zero to hero !

Yes the fielding by those 2 has been absolutely horrid; feel sorry for our bowlers. They definitely need to go to fielding boot camp or something. We can't afford to have these 2 guys on our ODI squad unless they pick it up.

I agree with u saj, they need to improve their fielding and show more commitment in the field.

True - I always assume that the younger players have so much more backup in terms of fielding techniques etc that they should set the field on fire - not so with Salman and Hameed - I dont quite undertsand why newish players should be in the slips anyway - thats a domain for the more experienced guys anyway - you need young legs to run around in the field - which is why I Was surprised to see Hameed in the slips against Aus ( where he dropped a catch as well of Gilchrist )
