Split amongst Aussies team

The recent collapse of Aussies in the 2nd test has just shown us how much a dummy captain Ponting is. He just does not understand what is going on in the team.

How can a respectable team like Australia lose 6 wkts in a span of 50 runs going from 102 for 2 to 152 for 8? Only good explanation is that there is a rift between the players and they purposely gave away the wkts.

It seems Clarke is very much interested in the captaincy of the Aussie team and has formed alliance with the newcomer North and all rounder M Johnson. Ponting had planned to tell reporters what he can do if his players do not score but stopped himself at the last moment realizing he himself only scored 2 runs.

Not too long ago Qadir had told reporter that he saw Misbah and Malik having a long 4 hrs meeting with Clarke when they played 5 ODI series in Abu Dhabi. At that time no one knew what the meeting was all about but the latest performance has shed some light on it. It is now believed that Clarke had learned from the two masters (M&M) how to make your captain look like a dummy as well as get out cheaply while making the ball look unplayable. Clarke has just successfully unleashed his new skill in the 2nd test and the whole world is in tatters.

It is now widely reported that Ponting's days as captain are numbered.

Is this thread meant to be ironic or is the OP serious? If serious then you have to stop being so paranoid, it's really not healthy.

From now on... whenever a team loses I am going to say their must be a rift . Cause obviously no team can lose right?

Now watch if they make a great comeback tomorrow.. the rift stories will disappear as if they were never conjured up in the first place.

The Aussies got stuck into a poor situation where they had everything against them such as bad light with threatening overcast conditions and a fired up Flintoff roaring at them. Not to take anything away from Anderson and Broad who were equally mean with their bowling.

I was thinking the same when heard about the Aus performance - replace PAK with AUS and the whole thing becomes a joke!

Ponting didn't score a century this match. Maybe he wanted to expose some players Interesting development and not just the batting but some bowling all-rounder doesn't look happy either

Austrailia collapsed one time, we collapsed three times, i do not think that there is any grouping in pakistani side but i don't know how else to explain three disastrous innings from pakistan.

collapse happens to any team. even aussies of 90s and early 2000s too collapsed few times. windies of 80s too collapsed many times. if a team collapse once in a few test matches then its nothing bad. but if it happens three times in a row, then there is something wrong.

if this team collapse next two innings or atleast once in next two to three innings then it would be fair to criticize this aus team.

I find it very intresting to see people comparing aus team collapse today with Pakistan team which did thrice in a row.

yeh i really believe that the aussies think like pakistani's ... i know its not gospel truth but Mike Atherton was just talking about how united the aussie team is and how they all play for one another ... i'm not saying that Athers is right but like i said theirs more likely to be a rift in the pakistani team then the aussies

you do know that some Australian players spent time time with certain Pakistani players in UAE. Key players from Australia wanted to rest while Clarke was captaining. I won't be surprised if some Pakistani boys were misled by Australians. Look at their T20 performance? Look at last test when they didn't want to get the last couple of players out.

Pakistan team collapse one time or three times, but it is part of cricket. Cricket is very unpredictable sport. Anything can happen and even if it is more than thrice, then so be it. That is what makes the sport so interesting. Sadly, our supporters tend to hype em as match fixed or the rift of the team.

This is wicked thread. Pakistan is playing first test after two and a half years and Australia is already played several test series already. Pakistan team is bound to collapse several times, but they need time to adjust to test format. It is matter of time.

^ It is time to kick the Clark, Johnson and several key players out of the team because they threaten to make Ricky look bad. LOL

Oxy it seems you are the only one getting my sarcasm rest are just getting wound up.

What happened to us can happen to the best teams although that should not be an excuse to have repeat performances of the collapse. There should be accountability for these disastors but as usual Pakistani fans over react.

A defeat always hurts the captain. If the frequency of defeats become higher and higher, the captain does fall under pressure. If Ponting loses the ashes this time, i am afraid he may be asked to step down.

Don't know RA...I don't think Pup's ready yet. I also don't think the boffins in charge will want to discard Dubya as a batsman, which they would have to if they relieved him of the captaincy.

It's all about trends IMO. If he loses another few series after this then they will start seriously thinking about it I reckon.

Well personally I would prefer Dubya to be captain when we tour Australia this winter (summer for you). I think is the best chance of us beating Aus in Aus.

I find it hard to imagine we would continue with a captain who lost 2 Ashes series. Maybe they won't sack him but he will be under a lot of media pressure to resign (as he was last time he lost them) if we lose this series.

you cannot compare australia with pakistan. aussies are professional unit who doesnt have rifts in team. However pakistan has a history of rifts and huge egos, and backstabing team members.
How intelligent team management is. after loosing the series they are not willing the chance to youngsters in tests. they are probably going to make one change for 3rd test.
