Sri Lanka v Pakistan | 1st ODI | Dambulla | 30/7/09 [SL inns]

After a disapointing test series Pakistan will be looking to make a good start in the 5 match one day series. With the ICL players coming back into the fold, competition has hotted up and just about any line-up is possible today. Some exciting youngsters and some proven performers make them and exciting but unpredicatable.

SL on the other hand will be welcoming back two of their star bowlers in Murali and Malinga but have lost their in form opening batsmen Dilshan to injury. They will be looking for some revenge over the last time these two teams met in a limitted overs format - the T20 World Cup final loss.

Match starts in about 2 hours.

It's going to be a fun match to watch because of the players that are in the squad. There are a lot of attacking players that could make for an entertaining game and series.

Toss should be in about 35 minutes.. I am ANXIOUS to hear the SQUAD..

I hope Fawad gets a game, but also Mohammed Yousuf especially if we go with attacking batsman like Nazir.. Need that stability..

This is cricinfo's predicted team
I agree with the team selection more or less but am not sure of the batting lineup they have given. Misbah at 7 is understandable but MY at 7 would be wasted. Would go with Malik at number 3 as after a good or a bad start the next batsman after Nazir and Akmal would have to consolidate without slowing down the runrate to much. With MY and YK at 4 and 5 and Afridi and Alam\Misbah (Should go with Alam as Misbah is out of form) 6 and 7

http://www.cricinfo.com/slvpak2009/c...ry/416827.html

(likely) 1 Kamran Akmal (wk),
2 Imran Nazir,
3 Younis Khan,
4 Fawad Alam,
5 Shahid Afridi,
6 Shoaib Malik,
7 Misbah-ul-Haq/ Mohammad Yousuf,
8 Abdul Razzaq,
9 Umar Gul,
10 Naved-ul-Hasan,
11 Saeed Ajmal/ Mohammad Aamer

That's disappointing, they say they want specialist openers, yet when the time comes to give them opportunities, they don't get it. What has Nasir Jamshed done wrong? You can't tell me that they dropped him based on a practice game...

If practice game counted so much, then why not Umar Akmal given the chance?

this has taken a bit of the entertainement out of the batting.. thats why they choose to bowl because they want a lowish 200 score to chase with a sensible batting line up

I don't understand why many of you guys ask for links every match
usually the same websites have the links there is such a thing as
bookmark so you can go back to such a website.

Hey by the way did you read this article where they said it was legal for a website to host links to p2p sports stream as they were not streaming it themselves
http://torrentfreak.com/streaming-an...-legal-090724/

I think people here are assuming that Malik and Kami will open. However, I have a feeling that one of the openers for this game will be Fawad. They need to play him in his regular comfortable position...

well I don't blame YK for choosing this line up..because this is not a batsmen paradise of a pitch..not that I am saying that they can't play on it..but for the confidence for these new batsmen..I think that lineup is perfect for the situation..Misbah's last chance I would think..good for Mohammad Aamaer, and he is debuting because it is good for the bowlers..we will see the others in the series hopefully...good thinking on the end of YK I think..if we put Nazir, Jamshed, and Umar Akmal, we could have lost as well...this is a difficult pitch..Inshallah we will win..

would of liked to see more flare at the top of the order, the only hitters in the team are afridi and razzaq and they are down the order. atleast with nazir, nasir or akmal they would of got the team of to a fast start.

Malik opening shouldn't be a huge problem ... he's done it before and he averages 40 at the top (39.54) so i'm not too dissapointed .... I wanted Fawad to play so good on him ... surprised that Nasir missed out ... if you're gonna have specialist openers then use them

What pathetic selection if anyone thinks for a second that either Malik or Fawad can be permanent openers then they are only fooling themselves. The only positive I see is that guys like Umar Akmal and Nasir won't have to play on this low scoring ground.

Dude, Nasir Jamshed has been pretty promising opener so far. You can't do a knee jerk reaction and that too just based on a PRACTICE game. Also, if you are using practice match, then why won't you give Umar Akmal a chance?
