English cricket pundits talk some nonsense.

English pundits talk so much nonsense these days that its getting ridiculous.First it was stewart and co about how good anderson is (top3 comment). Now gough is on talk sport spouting some utter nonsense.According to him aussies and english umpires are the best in the world and should have been umpiring during the ashes.
Now other then taufal who are the best umpires from aus and eng?Harper?benson? Goul? Who else.
Someone should tell him that aleem dar with taufal has been the best umpire in last 5years.

Asad Rauf made 2 blunders in the last test.... and I cay say without a shadow of a doubt that it was the first time I saw Asad Rauf make an error while umpiring....

English umpires are potentially the worst... Harper is over-rated.... Benson is very inconsistent...

Darryl Hair was from Australia... Nuff Said!

And I can say without a shadow of a doubt that you haven't seen Asad Rauf umpiring in very many games! The man makes a mockery of umpiring! He is as bad as they get tbh.

That said, most of these English and Australian umpires are a load of rubbish as well. At least we have ALEEM DAR, who in my opinion is equal to Simon Taufeel when it comes to accuracy and quality of decisions. Gough has not a clue what he's on about if he's actually said a racist remark like that.

The standard of domestic umpiring in this country is pretty good, which I presume is something Gough is alluding to. Shane Warne shares his opinion on this - I've always liked Neil Mallender and Nigel Llong.

But is he right to say English and Aus umpires are the best in the world.

Perhaps not as I can only talk about the matches in which I have seen him umpire and in those he has been flawless

I don't agree with his statement about English/Aussie umps being the best. Aleem Dar is quality and he deserves respect. He's the second best umpire in the world right now in my opinion after Taufel of course who is a legend already.

the problem for the umpires during this series was how the players were conning the umpires with excessive appealing, if this was players from the sub continent then we would have seen fines and bans, specially the spoilt brat broad, and siddle, and swan

Agreed they are two very good umpires. Thank God though that Mervyn Kitchen is no longer umpiring!!

Btw, whatever happened to Jeremy Lloyds?

In terms of Australian umpires apart from Taufel, they are all fairly average.
