Faisal Iqbal says that the A tour was a success!

I read today on GEO Bottomline that Faisal Iqbal said that the A tour was a success both for the team as well as for him! He said that his performances in the one days were enough to prove that he wasn't just a test player.

In the one days, he scored 217 at 54.25. However it must be noted that he wasn't as impressive in the test series.(which we actually won!) It seems from these stats that he plays for himself rather than for the team. Based on the stats I'm sure he will be picked for the next A tour, while other more deserving players will have to sit back. What do you think: is he a team-player or not?

The worst player ever, the worst captain ever! Doesn't he feel ashamed while saying this? any player could match that average if they played so slowly. Did he score any match winning knock? what an idiot!
I have never ever called any player idiot, but he deserves it!

he played v selfish innings just for himself, not a single match winning inning.
He is a pretty useless player as far as I am concerned.

Performance with current team is measured in relative term. He thinks A team has done better than seniors (test series win) and his average was much better than Shoib, Misbah, Yonsuf,....

He was in good position with 2-0 ODIs win but he blew it.

A. The tour wasn't a "success". Someone tell him we lost 3-2 after going up 2-0 that's pretty poor.

B. He scored 130 runs @ 43.33, Iqbal please stop counting tour matches.

C. He should be in the A team, his brother should not be. He has done enough with the bat to deserve selection in the A team.

I think they did pretty well too, specially in the ODIs despite losing. They put on good fights playing against a much stronger SL side [Mahroof, Malinga played some of those matches]

So they did a pretty great job . results don't matter for A teams, it's how you go up or down.

I don't know why you guys are laughing at him. He is absolutely correct when he says that tour was a success for the team. Sri Lanakan "A" team was more experienced team than our team. In the last ODI (the decider), SL "A" team had played 400 international matches (Test, ODI and T20s) as compared to just 79 played by Pak "A" --- which Pakistan lost just by 3 wickets.

Now, I don't agree with him when he says tour was personal success for him because his S/R in ODI series was horrible.

So should we laugh with him? Ok, the team did well, especially in the tests and the first 2 ODIs, but yaar look at his captaincy: In the 4th and 5th match he kept on bowling with part timers when we needed yorkers from Wahab Riaz and Talha, he could also have utilised Abdur Rehman much better, no instead he kept going with Azhar Ali and Ahmed Shehzad. Ok the wickets might have suited spin bowling, but in death overs you have to bring back your main fast bowlers. Azhar Ali went for plenty and both last matches were lost in almost same manner.

And moreover in the 4th ODI Umar Amin and Azhar Ali put up a 100 runs opening stand so why did they open with Khalid Latif in the 5th ODI. Is this wise captaincy??

And while he was batting he was in test mode, even Samaraweera didn't play like this in his old days. ODIs are ODIs and Tests are Tests. Just to make his ave better he plays so slowly and for himself. If he was afraid of a collapse he could have come in one down or at no 4 and played faster, but the matter of fact is that he can not play with a healthy strike rate.

If he is brought back in the first team, it will be disastrous. I backed him very much in the past, but he is not good enough for the highest level! End of story!
