Taking West Indies lightly?

We all are assuming that windies will pose no danger to the big 3 but I believe they can do damange on their day...

They have nothing to lose and we should consider them as a minnow just like Ireland and we all know what ireland did in worldcup & T20 worldcup!!

Though the only way I can see them win when they bowl first on a real seaming track aganist Pak or India, shot them out for 150 and then scrap to 151/7 in 46 overs...

No team should be taken as lightly, but it seems some of the Pakistani fans are just concentrating on India and Australia, I will wait till we win against Windies.

West-Indies Mahaulla XI .

No worries as we are gonna win against them , Although I got no doubts that it will be a tough one where the balance of the match will rest in the middle until the end .

Well of course no International match can be taken lightly but i can't see WI posing much threat to the three teams. They are not even WI "A" more like WI "B".

The current West Indies team is not a international team.

They are a team of schoolboys

Where in topic Irsih is mentioned, I think it was about the group which contains India, Pakistan, Australia and West Indies.

If the Irish can come in the thread from Pakistan's past, why not Bangla Desh from India's past?

The topic is about whether WI is to be taken seriously. The thread obviously talks about a worst case scenario. I merely cited another worst case scenario from the past. I did not even raise the Irish thing, I just mentioned that on a green top, the worst may happen. Then when someone pointed out that WI would also have to bat on the same green top that I pulled out that Irish example- on topic.

Now, how on earth you think Bangladesh is relevant here, I do not know. It's not even remotely connected. I did not intend to offend anyone here. If someone else had raised that, would have looked perfectly relevant to everyone. However, if you must discuss that, I suggest you open another thread and I will respond. But here, I suggest, we stay on topic.

Its a very weakened windies side

You can't even call them West Indies A and if Ireland played them, Windies would lose be a reasonable margin.

This is a different Pakistan team to the one that faced Ireland (oh that loss is still so raw)....and anyway with Younus Khan content on winning another tournament, every match is a do-or-die for Pakistan...

I just want Pakistan to remain unbeaten in this tournament for 5 games....and take another trophy home

can't believe how arrogant some of the cpomments are!!......no team can be taken lightly....a Pakistani fan i know to admit we are equally capable of being tripped by the so-called mohala west indies side as we are capable of beating australia or south africa.....

it's pakistan....a couple of stupid run outs.....few unnecessary over-confident strokes from the likes of imran nazir(anyone remember his dismissal in the 07 t20 wc group stage game against india!!!).......and before you know the ultra talented side is bowled out for less than 150 by a MOHALA bowling line up

No team should ever take another team lightly. That's how major upsets happen. Be it Ireland beating Pakistan or Kenya beating India. Complacency is always dangerous.

I wouldn't mind if we take them lightly because even if they get off to a flying start like they did vs South Africa (warm-up, 83 or so in 14 overs) they can't read the spinners to save their lives, even on the flattest of tracks.

The major concern for me is to beat WI by the biggest margin possible .....Coz it could very well come down to the NRR...We could have a case where all three big teams end up with 2 wins from 3 matches.....Sooo the Net Run Rate could decide who goes to the Semis...I say CRUSH THEM.....

i believe we are under-estimating them. remember guys we are pakistan so we could be making 350 or maybe 95 YOU NEVER KNOW!!

but we have the best captain leading us into battle because (apparently) yk is injured

Ireland? To some extent the future of West Indies? This team will be a lot more dangerous then people think.

Obviously Pakistan is head and shoulders above this WI team BUT because Pak is so unpredictable, I feel West Indies's best chance of winning a match this tournament is against them.
