The rules say that a player can only leave the field if they have an injury and thus can be replaced. if the player going off is off the pitch for 8 mins or more then when he returns he cant bowl for a certain length of time. after almost every long bowling spell england bowlers are going off for a rest or a quick massage etc and then return usually within 5-7 mins.... theres no law against this ... however, i agree with pointing england are taking the ****** ...
its down to umpires to do sumat about it... |

It's not a new thing either, the Aussies apparently did it in the late 80's and early 90's (or so says Dean Jones).
Something does need to be done about it but mouthing off in front of 17,000 people and countless more television viewers is not the right way to do it. |

IMO its against the spirit of the game, almost all the time England has a substitute fielding out there in the middle. Though why should someone speak against it because everything becomes right when it comes down to England doing it, first the reverse swing saga and now this I am pretty sure if it had been Pakistani pacemen doing this the whole of England would have been slagging them off.

If it was Pakistan reverse swinging the ball after 15 overs...we would have been watching TV highlights with the camera showing the hand all the time....I am sure Channel 4 expert Simon Jones would have analysed a correlation between the amount the ball reverse swing with the number of times players left the field.
Our batsmen have a habit of scoring a 100 and resting it out during the fielding session. |

The ball at OT was reversing for both teams verry early on.
Personally I think they have both been at it with the sugar boosted saliva as well. Mind you, it did exactly the same in the championship match played there the next day. |

Yes but I doubt the umpires have the guts to do anything about it. It's not just England to be fair - everybody does it nowadays - it's just that they've been taking the **** somewhat this summer

I find it a little disingenuous for the Australians to expect everyone to get on the same high horse as themselves.
ICC should be enforcing the "spirit of the game" and not Ricky Ponting. |

I dont like the idea of the bowlers leaving after their spells...but surprisingly, ICC dont have a petty law to stop it...so its nothing anyone can complain about.
AND the Aussies talking about 'the spirit of the game' makes me wanna puke!!! They have tested every law in the book to its limits..now they get some payback, they cannot take it! And for those Pak fan....we did the same in the 1987 tour to Eng, and I recall us having 3 or 4 sub fieldsers on at the same time...Asif Mujtaba (sub) spent more time on the field that tour than most of the starting XI! |
