Guys, is anyone familiar with a website called http://sulekha.com, and the various training related ads placed by several consulting companies there?

I am planning on doing some software training in SAP, Peoplesoft, Data Warehousing, or as a Buniness Analyst; I haven't decided as of yet!

I would like to know if you or anyone you know have been trained by one of those consulting companies and have any good/bad stories to tell

There are quite a few ads on Sulekha.com about various training & placement courses. I would advise you to be very cautious about it. There have been cases where people have been cheated by these companies especially in cases where you have to do various immigration related things through them. As a thumb rule refrain from companies who ask you to pay up before being trained. The good ones usually agree to cut a part of the salary once they are able to get you placed in one of their clients. Also try to get trained in a "hot" skill set , so that even if you later find out that the company that trained you aint so good , you can take and market you skill set someplace else.
It generally works out for a majority of the cases , but join a placement company where someone you know have worked before or can vouch for them. I am assuming you go to college there , so I think fellow students might be of much more help. Many Indian students use these ads on Sulekha to good effect.
